FOX will rerun the pilot episode of "Glee" tonight, BUT this will be the directors cut. It starts at 8:58 p.m. EST.

Glee is a pile of shit

Sorry I can't get pass the whole musical angle of it, the teen angst or the cliche-ridden components of high school drama or the fact the only people who can be involved in Glee must be girls, gays or handicapped >> sorry that's probably not a politically correct term to use these days

Anyway unsurprisingly Joss loves this Glee crap

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

While I don't love Glee, I do like it quite a bit and I disagree with just about everything you said about it, Jaynez.

One major correction I have to make is that two of the lead actors are not gay, handicapped and obviously not girls. They are also stars on the football team.

As for the "whole musical angle of it," that's what the fricking show is about. You want a show about a glee club to not have musical numbers in it?

It's fine you don't care for it, but at least try to make your argument sensible.

Glee is the antithesis of the High School Musical.
You don't get the obvious sugar-coated sacharrine pap and, if you watch closely, you get subtle witicisms that, at times, border on brilliance.

Browncoats, were they to give it a chance, would appreciate the character development that is not apparent in the pilot episode. Like an onion you have to peel it away in layers.

The teen angst you talk about is dealt with on a more realistic level (as far as a TV show could go in this circumstance) than in HSM. And they have fun doing it.

I watch Glee every week, and while I enjoy it, I can't help but feel that they have some script/structure problems, both throughout each episode AND the season itself.
Some scenes are just cringeworthy, and some of the tensions are resolved too quickly or forgotten over episodes. A lot of the musical numbers are very fake/processed and don't really (in my opinion) suit the way the show portrays many of the songs. If they're practicing a ballad, and all they have is the piano and the singer, that's what the song should have. I don't want the entire band to be added in the background, with vocal effects corrupting the lovely voice of the singer.

That all said, it's a decent show, with some great moments, but it's not a favourite, and I wouldn't be that upset if it got cancelled (not that it will anytime soon).

But then, I'm hardly the target audience, so I'm sure the target audience is ok with all the problems that I have with it.

Also, I don't get why everyone loves Sue. She CAN be funny, but lately she's just felt useless and an irritation. Great actress, but she's being underused by doing the exact same thing in every episode.

That all said, there have been spectacular episodes where the writers have clearly tried to start something within the show, that haven't continued on, which is a shame.

Anyone agree?
