We all anticipate a hugely successful BDM. With this in mind, it is only natural to assume that one or several of our beloved crew will rise to greater heights and become known not just to their faithful Browncoats. So who do you guys think will be the most likely? Adam? Nathan? Morena?

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Honestly, I think it is a toss-up between all of them except Alan, Adam and Ron. Those three are more likely to remain supporting character actors, while all the others could really shine in lead roles.

Interesting you should say that, given that those three, of all the cast, have the most experience with successful tv or movie productions.

I'm not sure that I really want to see any of them rise to "super stardom" -- that seems to lead to mediocre romantic comedies and bad action movies. Maybe just stardom. For that, Adam Baldwin -- he most closely fits Hollywood's ideals for male attractiveness, and having seen him in more than one role (which is something I cannot say for many of the other cast members), he's very good at becoming whomever he's playing. (Thought that might actually hamper him, since super stardom seems to be always being the actor, no matter what role you're playing.)

I think Summer has an outside chance, too. And Nathan.

I'm going with Summer here because she's young, pretty. and a very good actress. It would be nice to see the others do well too.

Nathan Fillion! The man is just so charismatic. He seems to totally charm everyone who meets him.

From soap to sitcom, leading man to limelight stealing guest star. He can be dark and bitter, hilariously funny and goofy and his Caleb on Buffy was seriously creepy.

Remember his Saturn Award - Face of the Future. I think the exposure he'll get from the BDM will do it for him Long overdue.

it all depends on the roles they choose.

but im guessing: alan, morena, jewel, and adam. really all of them has great potential for post-serenity success.(but on the down low, i hope they dont get TOO successful, cause if the possibility of the show returning to tv comes true, i want them all to return) i know thats bad but thats how i feel deep down inside. i know shame on me.

My (alleged) money would be on Summer. The role of River is a very demanding one, as it calls for someone to be waifish but with the occasional gimpse of a titanium lining, by turns loony and etherial, yet conveying an unmistakable sense of genius unhinged. It is a part which she nails as very few (any?) others could. And, yes, she is very young and very pretty. I'm guessing that young Ms. Glau will be getting a good deal of attention after the BDM hits the screens; critics and casting directors would have to be on Haldol to miss her potential as an actress.

My next guess would be Nathan. He's affable, strong, attractive, has excellent comedic timing, yet fine dramatic chops as well.

That said, I'd also keep a close eye on Morena's career after this...though she might have to have some work done. A bit homely, that one..

Duuuude! This is a great question, I love this board.

The correct answer: ALL OF THEM.

They've all got the acting chops, Joss has proven during his many years on television that he has an eye for that sort of thing.

If there's any kind of formula for this category, then the actors with a shot at it are actually the ones who die in the movie. Not that this will happen, but... okay I have no basis for this theory. I was thinking of Kevin Bacon in "Friday the 13th" and just got carried away.

Anyway, all of them. Big damn heroes, sir.

Alan & Summer.

Summer already is something of a whiz, being an accomplished ballerina, flamenco dancer, and successful actress now in two roles, one exceptionally difficult.

Best wishes to her.

Alan will certainly have the greatest success in film. I mean, he's already the most recognizable actor in the crew, and let's be honest, the success of I, Robot could help make or break Serenity. Which is the main reason I'm going to go see it this weekend. Alan has been in some good productions, alongside up and coming actors that have gone on to superstardom (most notably Heath Ledger and Paul Bettany). And just recently, he was in Dodgeball, proving that he must have an "in" into that elusive group of Stillers, Vaughns, and Wilsons, that will undoubtedly help him land bigger roles in the future. After Alan, I think Gina has a chance, simply because of who her husband is. Past that, I'd say Nathan, as he's got what looks to be a very intelligent arthouse film about the nature of homosexuality in a very masculine family. I could honestly see him starring in a few Irish films as well. As a matter of fact, the aforementioned film is about an Irish family.

Super Stardom? What like Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, Jack Nicholson, Brad Pitt, Harrison Ford and the like? That is a tough guess as they are all very talented and charismatic actors. With Joss as a catalyst and if the Movie Serenity is a Mega success with a a follow on to a trio of movies
they could all have super stardom for several years with some having exceptional success for a lifetime. Please Please Please make it all happen and Shiny. :-)

Obviously, I think every single one of our BDH are amazing, so it was really hard to choose! But I'd have to say that I think either Adam Baldwin or Nathan Fillion have a really good chance. just based on the charisma they have as actors and well, to be blunt, they're both freakin' hot!! lol Alan has a good shot too, because he's very funny which is key in the movie industry. I think Jewel has a good shot too because people can identify with her very quickly. Aww, I think all of our BDH could! But I'll stick with those picks if I have to. lol

Well, my personal guess is actually on Adam, simply because he matches the Hollywood definition of Action Hero with his looks and style. Although I would like to see them all to get the publicity they deserve, because then they would get more roles and I could see them more often!

I hope none of them do. Super stars have no time to spend posting on fan web sites and going to "little" comic book conventions. I hope they all become moderately famous/2nd tier stars who everyone knows/recognizes and likes but doesn't hit real super stardom level. To use two movies I recently saw, more Stanley Tucci than Tom Hanks, more James Cromwell than Will Smith.

I think we need an altered definition. "Superstar" has such a complex connotation. We think of superstars as people who show up on the red carpet and wave. We should be talking about "A-list" actors vs "B-list" actors.

A-listers are the Tom Cruises of the world, the names everyone knows and the people who can get a movie greenlighted if they're attached.

B-listers are good actors, but don't have the celebrity to move a picture through Hollywood. They're often second choices for lead roles, because everybody really wants Tom Cruise in their movie. Dumb, but true. Tom Cruise sells tickets with his name. Nathan Fillion does not. Yet. But if he becomes and A-list actor, he can get almost anything he wants into production.

Look at "Solaris", a very overlooked piece of sci-fi drama. The movie was weird and had no real commercial value, and certainly didn't do well at the box office, but because George Clooney signed onto it, it got made. That's the power A-listers have.

Nathan. He just seems to draw you in when he is on screen and I love the way he can move from drama to comedy in a second and still remain totally believable. And of course he has the loveliest eyes I have ever seen on a man. By far.

Tough question.
Hmmmmm....
Before I choose, a few have mentioned the 'action star' potential in A. Baldwin, and although that would be cool for him to be the lead in a few movies, most 'action stars' have a hard time being taken seriously after that and if that happened, it would be a great shame since what he has done in Firefly alone is evidence that he is an AMAZING actor. IMO.
Anyhow... back to picking future Oscar winners:
damn. I can't choose. They're all so damn good!
But I am gonna go with the above mentioned A. Baldwin. Why? Because he is in the background of some many movies just like Liam Neeson was before he got really really really big. (Why oh why did he do Star Wars???) Might be a dumb reason, but there it is.
But I would love to see any of them have many roles. Challenging roles... Good Paying Roles! :D

Edit: I can't spell.
