Mostly good list, but "Star Trek?" That's kind of a light movie, SF-wise, doncha think? And yeah, Terminator: Salvation is very under-appreciated IMO. The laughing Chrisisall

Quote:Originally posted by Jongsstraw: T4 was the best of the bunch since the original. It was what I had been waiting to see for 25 years, the actual war against the machines. It's a relatively "small" story, but it is very well done, and the plot is excellent. Hopefully we'll see more of that war in future movies.

Quote:Originally posted by Storymark: I don't see the correlation, as the movie was set from the start to end with Kirk's death.
Quote: Or are you saying you would have preferred the original "Kirk gets shot in the back while making a quip" ending?

Iron Man I get, but this one.... not so much. I think it as much SF (hate the term sci-fi by the way) as Watchmen or Iron Man, even more so than Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I would have put Batman Begins on the list as well, except I didn't want to drop any of the other titles.

Kirk and Picard were both in the Nexus; both actually in their own Nexus. All they had to do apparently was to "wish" their way out of the Nexus back to that planet before the energy ribbon appeared so they could stop Dr. Soran.......SO....why couldn't Picard or Kirk or both wish their way back into the Nexus after they got rid of Dr. Soran, therefore keeping Kirk forever alive in the Nexus? Furthermore, if the energy ribbon can be tracked as was shown, then why not use it for good, like sending dying or crippled people into it? Seems like a great final destination to me.
