Another good thought about I, Robot

Not really a movie note, per se, but it opens the door (no pun intended) for those "please turn off your cell phones and pagers" announcements. You know the ones I mean, with Sonny opening the door, and giving the PSA, then closing the door and getting on with the movie.

It wasn't just with I, Robot either; I noticed the same clip playing with at least three other movies around that time (I'm guessing that the theatre itself was appending it to everything; this theatre tends to do stuff like that). It wasn't just a PSA but, for all intents and purposes, a micro-trailer as well --everyone who sees any movie in that theatre would be exposed to Sonny's unique charm. Good, subtle advertising, it was.

I'm thinking Serenity could do something similar now that the precedent has been set. Maybe with Book appearing and giving a variant of the "Special Hell" speech. . .
