Fantasy fan edit here, what deleted scenes would be in YOUR version?
Time was I would've said ALL of 'em. But with distance & gentle reflection, I think I might only put back *some* of the Fanty & Mingo stuff from the bar, and the "What a whiner" bit. Definitely the latter- it just cracks me up. And it was a marvelously sarcastic & self-aware comment IMO.

What about you? Would you put stuff back in?

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

I might try putting back the scene in which Book asks Simon why he picked this ship, Simon looks up the name on his computer, & Zoe drops in to say "We ain't in there" . . .

That was deleted from the pilot episode of Firefly, and I'm sure Chris is talking about the BDM.

The only scene I would like to see restored is Mal and Inara in the shuttle, when he asks why she left and she replies, "Why didn't you ask me to stay?"

Ive toyed with some fan-editing in the past, and considered doing Serenity for a while. My plan was to include most of the deleted scenes, plus the outtake where Mal trips while getting into Inara's shuttle. Was also going to re-composit the Operative's ship right after he IDs Mal to have it leaving one of the big Alliance city-ships from the series.

As a final topper, I was going to cut a new closing credits sequence, in the style of the Firefly opening credits, but including the Operative and Mr. Universe.

"Goram it kid, let's frak this thing and go home! Engage!"

There's actually a legitimate early script where this is the case. It has most of the same plot-line too, but it elaborates on some stuff.

There's a little bit of early version weirdness, lines of dialogue that I can understand why they were removed because they were inappropriate for the character saying them. But other than that, it's a good read. Ask Two to toss you a link sometime.

I wouldn't mind all of them being out back in....except for the final scene when the operative is talking to Mal. I thought that was a bit much, but it was funny when Mal said "What a whiner".
