a washboard sounds like something a percussionist might play. i feel threatened! ok, in order for you to be in the band, i would require you to pledge loyalty to me and agree to defer to me, or ebo or howdy (in the rare event of my absence), in all band matters. also, you must give all of your beans to me.

What, no belly dancer yet? I guess I have to step up. IF I am really, really good and obey the anti-atkins rules of vegan low-fat eating and exercise, I will be small enough not to scare away viewers of the BDM.

Annik has finger cymbals covered, but I can bring those too.

ok, new song idea:

power chord, then howdy sings "on a warm summer's eve, on a train bound for nowhere, met up with a gambler, we were both too tired to sleep." then drum solo, then, well, that's all i worked out,

excecpt i want all new belly dancers to create an interpretive dance to "the gambler"

of course, i need to talk to kenny rodgers about rights and all that, but i went to one of his chicken places, and there a cashier told me he wasn't there. as a business person, how can he do that? shouldn't a business owner be at his place of business? where are you, kenny, where are you?!?!?!

ebo, i cannot have you missing obscure references, so, i've changed my mind. (plus, the "gambler" is rather elusive. apparently, hanging out around chicken is not the way to be.)

howdy, going with your strange, yet compelling issues, i've had an epiphany worthy of the band leader. i think we should do metal covers of cartoon theme songs. *holds for applause*

my initial ideas are spongebob, teenage mutant ninja turtles, and i want our breakout hit to be the remake of the captain planet theme.
*starts singing "captain planet, he's our hero, gonna take pollution down to zero! Earth, Wind, Water, Heart! With your powers combined...', clears her throat and sits down and retains the dignity of the band leader, legs crossed and hands folded in her lap, adjusting her intellectual looking eyewear*

so, everyone break out your footie pajamas and watch as many old school saturday morning cartoons as you can. speaking of which, does anyone but me remember 'dinosaucers'? i don't remember the theme, but it was the greatest cartoon of my childhood.

alien dinosaurs, what will they think of next?

I remember that!

Only ever saw one episode though, 'cause it (like so many other cool things) never aired in Canada.

What I do remember watching were Thundercats, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Voltron, and Silverhawks.

Aside from the 'Hawks, everything there currently has new kick-ass comics, toys, and Transformers never really left in the first place. We're also hearing rumours and hopes that Transformers could be the next 80s property to get the big-screen live-action/CGI treatment (I'm hoping for John Goodman as Sparkplug).

It's a good time to be a child of the 80s.

Greetings!

I would like to announce the successful completion of "The Fireflies" first ever gig! It occurred just this last Friday at the Clubhouse, and a fun time was had by all!

Ebo provided all the musical entertainment on her guitar as she rocked the walls off the place (some small amount of reconstruction of the clubhouse actually proved to be necessary).

In any case, the audience was entranced by this star performance and the standing ovation, when it came, was long and heartfelt.

One must ask one's self... can a World Tour be far behind?

This gala event was organized by ThatWeirdGirl, whom you should probably consider for the position of band manager.

Thank you for your attention!

* The Real Me bows and moves to depart, then stops. *

Wait... you have to actually get PAID to call it a "gig", don't you?

* Muttering under his breath, The Real Me searches through his pockets. Eventually, he pulls out a scrap of paper and pen and scribbles on it. He shoves it into Ebo's hands. *

Here, Ebo, I'm afraid you'll have to take an IOU.

Now wait a minute. I was there. I remember how it was. It was just the three of us, Sparky, and Intheshinycircuslife.

Now unless Mal-licious was wearing a muppet suit, she wasn't there at all, and even if she WAS wearing a muppet suit, I'm pretty sure that I didn't hear a solo of a "dumb stick sounds like its rainin'". The sound is quite distinctive, especially when harmonizing with a guitar.

So what's going on, here? Did I just fall into an alternate reality or something?

Umm...Ebo couldn't remember. So Ebo went with the flow and was feeling exspecialy black (which i'm not even a little bit), although now that the subject is brought up, Mal's attendence is a bit iffy.

Also, i hope that Bob is taking all this naming in good humor. I'm not trying to be annoying or dorky (ok, maybe a little dorky), really.

I am doing fine, thanks.

Do you really have a gong!?

Anyway, you must admit that "ThatWeirdGirl" is at least as unwieldy as "TheRealMe". It even has four more letters!

And while I could perhaps benefit from some candles lit FOR me, the only things that I might bestow upon any adoring fans is an occasional smile or giggle (they're all laughing WITH me, not AT me, The Real Mom always used to tell me).

In fact, the only other things I can do are invent hyper-tech scientific marvels and open rifts in space and time with my hands.

And Ebo, if you would like to call me "Me" or "You", or "TRM" or whatever, that is perfectly fine. But I'd kind of rather you'd avoid "Bob".
