the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

along with 40 other movies (from Apollo 13, to Zero Effect) in my Instant Q. Netflix subscribers, scan your own Qs & plan accordingly

I've seen this happen quite a few times, and they usually come back after a week or so. Usually. No guarantees. It's all up to the studios and their negotiations with Netflix.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Agreed. Seen shows and movies drop from Netflix only to return within a couple of weeks generally.

Ive found www.instantwatcher.com to be a very handy site for anyone who uses Netflix streaming a lot.

You can look up any currently available title and see how much longer it will be up, has a running list of noteworthy films expiring soon, as well as lists of top streaming films/shows on a day-to-day basis.

Firefly expires on, of all days, April Fool's Day.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I'm not sure if there was even any gap in its availability on Netflix. It's still in my streaming queue, even though I am unlikely to watch it that way since I have the Blu-Ray.

I think it was down for all of a day, which is the case with a lot of the films that expire - they do so only long enough for them to sign a new agreement.

I'm with Easy. Not only is it still in my streaming Q, it is still in the same place in my Q, right below Firefly. Howsomever

, of the 40 other titles that were scheduled to leave my Q, I'd already seen more 'n half. I usually keep stuff I rate 4 or 5 stars, 3 or less I delete, so I wouldn't know if some of the other titles came back. But of the ones I knew I liked, Apollo 13 did not came back, nor Amadeus, nor the Bodyguard, nor Chariots of Fire, nor Driving Miss Daisy, nor . . . Zero Effect. In fact, the only one I noticed that did come back was Serenity

Most of those that recently went off and did not come back are Warner Bros. titles - as WB is currently playing hardball with Netflix, trying to drive people to HBO-Go and boost DVD sales (they don't like rentals).

Which, you know, if we were talking a post-apocalyptic scenario, then maybe having a library of this stuff around isn't much a bad idea. I mean, the Library of Congress only adds stuff that's historically significant, but there's lots of film art around right now that isn't historically significant (yet?). Having DVDs of them out there somewhere might be the only way to preserve them.

Well, they make the stuff to sell, not as a public service. And streaming services like Netflix, as popular as they are, don't generate a whole lot of income at $8 a month.

Having to pay for a product isn't justification for theft, whether you agree with the price or not.

As it got mentioned, Zero Effect is definitely worth a watch - doing a modern Sherlock before Sherlock and Elementary got in on the action.

Sure, but that has nothing to do with what Im saying. Its subscription based, not ratings based, so those numbers are effectively irrelevant to the financial aspect.
