Quote:Originally posted by ecgordon: So far, I've only seen one of the Best Picture nominees, Gravity, but I will likely see several others over the next week or so. However, I'm not interested in Wolf of Wall Street, and American Hustle doesn't appeal to me very much either. Yesterday, I saw Inside Llewyn Davis, and was expecting Oscar Isaac to get a nomination. Granted, his character might be hard to sympathize with and like, but I'd bet the same could be said of DiCaprio, Bale or McConaughey. Since they've expanded the number of films nominated for Best Picture, it would be logical to have done the same for actors, actresses and directors. "Her" is nominated for Picture and Original Screenplay, but neither Spike Jonze or Joaquin Phoenix are so honored. An actress that would have been on my list is Julie Delpy for Before Midnight. And speaking of that film, why is it an "Adapted Screenplay" rather than original, just because it's a sequel?
