Hi everyone,

I'm new to the Browncoats and have recently gotten hooked on Firefly. Just finished the season and I am shocked to find out that it was cancelled. Boo FOX!

Anywho....is this the official OB site for Firefly? If not, can you please post a link to it?

Thank you so much!

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

What long-time fans think of as the OB (meaning either Official or Original Board) was one that was created by FOX prior to the premiere of the show, and it was hosted by Prospero. That board no longer exists.

But to be technical, fireflyfans.net was created before the OB, sometime in March of 2002 I believe, when our admin Haken retooled one he had created for the show Andromeda.

In either case, this is the longest running board devoted exclusively to Firefly.

Are any of the other dedicated Firefly boards still active?

Only two that I know of:

SerenityMovie.Org, created by Gossi when Universal dropped the site they created to promote the BDM - http://www.serenitymovie.org/browncoats/forums/index.php?act=idx

FireflyDVD.com, created by Jeremy Neish, producer of the Done the Impossible documentary - http://fireflydvd.com/phpBB2/

Neither are what you'd call active - but are nevetheless a treasure trove of fandom lore - fanfilm updates still get posted ocassionally to Fireflydvd.com.

Sadly the Signal forum got spammed to death and we had to take it down - though again, it was not heavily posted to after the initial move from Jeremy Neish's forum.

There is The Signal Blog too, but that's not a board of course and is still pretty small scale given that we're no longer producing regular content

The CSTS forum of course is still active, but mainly concermed with CSTS activities - so while exclusively Browncoat inhabited, it's more concerned with running the CSTS events themselves....which by the by have now raised $1 million for Equality Now and other supported charities and is entering it's 10th year as a Browncoat fixture.

The UK board died long since, so yes FFF.net is the only genuinely active board left.

Thank goodness for that continuity!!

So, we're pretty much the first and the last.
That's pretty cool and so sad at the same time.
