after a year of listening to me talk about the show,i gave my best friend my old copy to him(and a brand new set to my local library) a few days ago while he was visting me in nyc from ohio.anyway he is a star wars fan--and thats been it,but he has ben bummed out lately with the novels and ofcourse the movies,so anyhee,he just watched the pilot last night and loved it! he said he will be watching some more this weekend.and ofcourse he asked why it was cancelled-then stoped and realized it was on fox.i am giddy as a schoolgirl!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Congrats Nakedandarticulate!

Now all you have to do is convince him to show it to all of his friends in Ohio, and so on, and so on.......

I got two more this weekend...my dorm has a truly excellent movie room, with tiered sofas and 7 point surround and a huuuuuuge widescreen plasma TV, and so I got a few people to come watch it with me, and two were definitely hooked.

Serenity + Train Job seems to be irresistable.

We're watching more tonight

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

What a Fabulous idea. I'm about equidistant from a branch of the City library & another of the County library. Gotta check & see if they've already got it.

Keep the Shiny Side Up

Great work Thrawn!

Let us know how the second showing goes. Tell your new converts to tell their friends so they can spread the love.

I showed Firefly to someone that already decided they weren't going to like it even before they saw it! Why do people do that? They are only depriving themselves of something they could possibly really enjoy. I know several people like that. They see that everyone likes the show, so they start bad-mouthing it before they ever see it! Then, while they're watching, they look for any little thing they can to bring the show down, instead of just watching it and making a decision when it's over.

The funny part is that even while trying to talk bad about the show and stuff, when funny parts came up, they couldn't help but laugh! The show takes the worst critic and makes them a fan!

Firefly is right over here, best thing put out in years.. you will wear it out re watching it. and the just finished shooting a movie of it and just turned it over to the CGI People and etc etc etc
Oh I must warn you though, do not start watching it the night before you have to go to work...

One lady about 70 came back and was hunting for anything new on it..
I had to explain to her about cancelled show but here eyes lit up when I told her of the movie and of this board.. she wants to start a letter campain to get more made already :)

I've gone into video stores that don't have it. I ask them who decides what is on the shelves. I find out how to get in touch with them and try to get them to add Firefly to the shelves! I explain that as the movie gets closer, the series on DVD will be in demand.

I live in Australia and Firefly is completely unknown. When i saw the boxset and bought it...I LOVED IT SO MUCH. As of today, i have converted five of my friends and one of my teachers into full-fledged fans by letting them borrow my set. They loved it. I am so proud of myself. I'm trying to spread the word in Australia as much as i can, but it's really hard lol. I even advertise on MSN Messenger by counting down the days until the American release of the movie, and soon i will be advertising about it on the site :smile
FIREFLY ROCKS!!!

I am also in Australia (Perth).

I have my family, friends, and family members' friends fighting over my copy of the DVDs.

My local video library (Planet Video) is the best independent video library in the city and ordered in the US version of the firefly DVDs (Region 1) before the local ones were released. They're just good like that. :)

I love converting people. I have Fireflynights every once in a while when I'm at home, and my friends come. I've already converted 4 at home. And here at school, it's a lot easier to get people together, so we have weekly firefly nights. My conversion count at school is up to 4 as well, and they are starting to convert people. Wheee! I just feel like everybody in the world should get a chance to watch Firefly because it's the best gorram show ever!
