OK, just to prevent unnecessary panic--if you got a confirmation number or e-mail from Movietickets.com, you should be OK. If you did not, go ahead and panic.

EMBERS

it seems like most people (most I've talked to) didn't get confirmation e-mails from movietickets.com....
but if you joined their site you can check your 'order history' and that will list the Advanced showing with your confirmation/tracking number on it....

That is really bad that Philadelphia got messed up, hopefully it'll be all straight by May 26th

The problem appears to have been that one fan (I presume) has bought 195 tickets from what I can make out, which has thrown everything out of sync...

How were you able to tell that one fan bought 195 tickets?

I was pretty sure I never got through enough to buy one, but I sure clicked on accepting the order enough times...when I called Movietickets.com that day, they checked and said I never managed to get through. Now you've got me wondering!

I checked my order history - it says I have no transactions for the past three months - that means I've got no tickets, right? That's okay - I didn't THINK I did.

Nono, I don't work there - somebody here (a browncoat) rang the cinema and asked, and posted here to say somebody else has got 195 tickets.

Here is the response I got from movietickets.com after trying to buy tix for Chicago:

"We launched our redesign of Movietickets.com the morning of May 9, 2005 and
unfortunately we are experiencing some difficulty in some areas. There is a
glitch in the system which gives the impression that tickets are still
available, when in fact the movie is sold out. You order was not processed
and your credit card was not charged as the show time is sold out. Sorry for
any inconvenience this matter may have caused."

Check your cc anyway, but nothing has shown up on mine. Hope it helps.

BLACKBERRY

So I'm only 1.5 hrs away from there and I'm wondering if I should go through with my original plan of hanging out there. I'll be holding up a sign that says something like:

Got ONE ticket to Serenity movie? If so, I'll buy it AND give you a 20 min. neck and shoulder massage.*

Though now I'm a little creeped out by the 195 ticket buyer. I hope they won't be wantin' weird freaky-deaky stuff as part of the ticket purchase. *shiver* I WON'T be in my bunk.

FIREFLOOZYSUZIE

Well, I checked my account and my order was there, so now I'm printing the CONFIRMATION of the Confirmation...

I say, given all the glitches reported here and on other sites, one cannot be too cautious or paranoid.

Thanks everyone.
