What one question would you ask each of them?

For example, I would love to ask Zoe when she realized she was in love with Wash. Not so sure she'd answer me, but I'd love to ask

That's actually a really interesting question. I think if it were me, I'd ask Kaylee about her family. I'd love to learn more about her background, and how she became such a shiny, happy person even with all the horrible stuff that happens around her.

Actually I would ask him more about his family and about the dangerous situations he's gotten into over the years. I would yell at Mal to go tell Inara he loves her. I would probably give Inara a lecture about hellfire and lepers. I would also ask Mal to tell me some war stories, and I would finally ask Book about that joke he was telling everyone about something that happened at the Abbey, and also ask Simon to finish the story about the "upright" man that came into the ER. Of course I would ask Book about his past as well (duh!)

Then I'd ask River if I could hug her. I'd like a few answers, Academy-wise and all. But if she really walked into my door, I think my primary impulse would be to give her something back for all she's given me. I could write her a whole book about that even. But I have a lot of Love to give. And I'm convinced I could transfer that Love to River, in one instance of warmth, in a way that would make her understand, and comprehend.

Sigh. River may not be real; my feelings for her certainly are. Sorry to bring down your thread. :( I thought replying to it would make me happier. Now I just miss River.

I'm with those who want to know about the Wash/Zoe proposal. (The fact that it could've been Zoe is a good point!) Whichever one did the asking, I'd definitely want to know how it went down.

Besides that, I'd want to ask Inara if it's hard to face that the men (and women) she offers her services to are just customers. I can't imagine how hard it would be to know that you aren't dating, it's work. Doesn't she ever want to go find a guy (hint: Mal!) for herself, to actually have a relationship with?

It's hard to pick one question. They all seem like they'd just be so much fun to hang out with!

Actually, I'd want to talk to Joss first before the actual characters, and my first question would be...

"You lost your faith in God because of CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND?" It's just that after listening to the commentary for OiS and him telling the origins of his atheism, I thought it was weird that such a profound sci-fi flick was what clenched his belief in nothingness.

Knowing the big dork I am, I would probably ask a million and one questions about the 'verse. How does the companion guid work and what are their politices? How is education ont he Core, on the rim? What is the ordor of Shepherds like? Does the "meditating at a rock" line mena that it is a christian/buddhist faith
? Politics, how do they were in the 26th century? etc.

And then maybe a few fun ones like...

MAL: "What did you dream of being before the war?"

Zoe: "How did you know you loved Wash?"

Wash: "What was your home planet? What were you doing during the war?"

Book: "Okay, really, what did you do?" (because what other question can you ask book?)

Kaylee: "Please, tell me your stories."

River: "Could you read my mind and tell me something about myself that I don't know?"

Simon: "I know that leaving your home is angsty, but can you just stop resisting, fall in love with Serenity, and hook up with Kaylee already?"
