There's a new poll at Cinescape.com regarding the Firefly movie. We should go vote in it - every bit helps! It's here:

Yup, cast my vote. FF is doing almost as well as it deserves (which would be about...oh...100%. But we'll take it)!

Yup, Cinescape does have a bit of a pop-up plague. Blockers in place, though, it is a useful geek info site (darkhorizons is better, though).

The word is spreading, the revolution brewing, and we all have reason to feel insufferably pleased with ourselves (cue background music).

So heft a flagon of Mudder's Milk, mark another day off the countdown calendar (12/9.....), and, of course,

Keep Flyin'!

Joss is not only beating himself, but the rest of the competition, including a second X-Files movie.

Done. Firefly up to 45%; Buffy at 15%.

Wow, those ARE annoying pop-ups. My blocker didn't stop them. But they're not as bad as TV Guide.com, which plays mini movies that seem unstoppable.

47% of almost 500 votes.

If you want to control pop-ups, try http://www.mozilla.org/ Not only can you disable unwanted pop-ups, you can block images from specified domains (e.g. banner ad servers), browse with tabbed windows, open multiple bookmarked tabs with a single click, fine tune cookie control, search text in pages by just typing, control what scripts are allowed to do, use Bayesian spam filters, with the plug-ins control flash...

What did I tell you about pop-ups, viruses, spam, and out of control flash and scripts?
That it was manly and impulsive?
Yes precisely, only the exact phrase I used was "don't".

I find one of the best popup stoppers is CookieCop. its made by pc magazine, and is truly awesome.. it allows blocking on a site by site basis, as well as cookie blocking, and popup blocking.. it also monitors any connections made when you click on a link, so you can block trackers too.

Personally, I just use the browser's built-in blocker.

All browsers worth using come with one.

Firefly doing well. :) I hope someone isn't botting it, 'cause that would sour the victory. Better for the true stats to show FF in the lead.

Try using MoZilla as a browser, it's pretty intuitive, and better than IE IMO, plus it has a built in pop up blocker, and TAB BASED BROWSING! The future. Couser there are still a few sites it's incompatible with.
