If this can find a similar audience why not Firefly

I can't believ Lucas is going to find a network to show his horribly written drivel and Firefly gets canned.

I love Star Wars, basically anything in the Sci-Fi genre, but I have to admit that Lucas does not know how to write dialogue nearly as good as Whedon. If Lucas can produce his poorly written show, I don't understand why Firefly can't find an audience large enough to broadcast.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND!

Well, to be fair, Lucas probably won't be writing much/any of the series. He'll be hiring real writers. Hopefully ones who have more respect for the fans (and the viewership in general) than Lucas has demonstrated.

MISSTRESSAHARA

Well I had heard rumour's a year back or more (that I had posted) that Joss was seen at Lucas Ranch chatting with him. So maybe he will be having some of his talent come back to TV, but not with Firefly. Mind you this was a rumour I heard so please don't take it as source and go posting it over the web as valid until it can or can't be confirmed.

Lucas, who pretty much has money to burn, is financing the show out of his own pocket, so even if a network cancels it, it still will have its hardcore fanbase to buy further episodes on DVD.

Truthfully, I liked the interview. I especially was interested in his business model, which is "produce the whole show, then sell it to the highest bidder". I think this is a great way to keep the suits from meddling and preserve the vision of a finite-run show.
