STAPLES

I have recently been getting into cancelled TV shows with the probability of getting movies made out of them (Arrested Development, and Veronica Mars to be precise).

If you haven't seen Veronica Mars, it's really great. Joss called it the best thing on television - not made by him. Joss loved it sooo much, that he was able to get a cameo role on the show!

When I saw the episode, I jumped out of my chair (literally) and swore (excitedly) and pointed at the screen and did a happy dance of sorts.

If Joss liked it, you might too - check it out.

It ends the third season with a cliffhanger (like most TV shows), but it was never picked back up - now the creator is hard at work on a script for a movie to wrap it up...sound familiar?

Anyway, this is probably old news to many of you, but to those who didn't know about it, check it out - you may like it.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I have all of the VM dvds and love the show, but I have to say the first season is the most awesome, and that was before Joss' cameo (Season 2, Episode 6).

I liked the show as well. Though I agree that it was in a steady state of decline. Season 1 was really well done. Season 2 a little less so and then Season 3 really never founds its legs IMO. I'd be at theaters right away for a Veronica Mars movie though. I always look at Veronica Mars as a TV show that does mystery correctly. They present a lot of events and things that leave you scratching your head, but they wrap them up and you can tell there were clear answers to the events the whole time. Others *cough*Lost*cough* just fly by the seat of their pants it seems.

They did release a short "Season 4" promo, with Veronica just having graduated from FBI school. Even though things did go a bit downhill from season one, VM was still easily one of the best shows on television.

I loved season 1, but if anything, I loved season 2 even more. Season 3 always felt like it was trying very hard NOT to get cancelled, to the point of dropping story arcs and going off in different directions, without ever really feeling nearly as coherent as the first two seasons.

That said, I would gladly stand in line for a VMars movie. If it's old news, I sure as heck hadn't heard anything about it, and that just made my weekend. Keep your fingers crossed!

I saw Joss posting about it on Whedonesque several times, and thought, "I'll have to check that out". So I did, about halfway into season 2, and I was completely lost. Fortunately, the first season DVD set went on sale for less than $20, so I decided to take a chance on it and take Joss's word (he hasn't steered me wrong yet). Sure enough, I was hooked almost immediately.

And Joss's cameo was hilarious.

Seems like forever since I've seen that particular footage, but I do really remember it being different than the previous tonality of the first few seasons.

I've been hoping for the show to get some level of comeback: be it movie or comics.
