What do you reckon it should say? Mine's a little short so far - read it in that deep, growling, American trailer voice for best effect.

"She's only 17 years old.

They want to use her brain.

They just want to eat it.

Where do you run when you reach the end of space?

(Some large explosion here no doubt).

Serenity

Rated PG-13."

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Joss snuck into the recording of the voice over and changed it to his own. ^_^

I don't know what it should say, but I like that 'Where do you run when you reach the end of space' line a lot.

"Bwaa...it's kind of a warrior...strikes fear into the hearts of..."

I like it, but you are missing the most important part of almost every movie trailer made....

"In a world..."

I call her "Vera"

It would be great if Joss did a take off of that whole "In a world" thing.

"In a 'verse ruled by a totalitarian Alliance, where the only freedom can be found in the black, Malcolm Reynolds and the crew of Serenity are locked in a battle to find jobs and keep flying. Pursued by blue-handed assassins bent on taking a young girl with psychic powers. Threatened by flesh-eating Reavers driven mad at the edges of space. Dogged by enemies old and new.

MAL: Get ready, people. Violence is imminent.

You'll find no peace ... on Serenity."

Something like that. Only funnier.

I like the copy from eb's Blue Sun poster:

One government unites them
One corporation owns them
One power drives them
One girl defies them

They took her mind
They took her life
This summer
River Tam fights back

But if, as Whedon has it, Blue Sun are not major players in Serenity I suppose it may be more appropriate to a sequel, which may be big enough to be a Summer Blockbuster

I was thinking about this. When I heard that the film was basically going to be Serenity with the Alliance on one side and Reavers on the other I assumed that Alliance meant AND Blue Sun. But while there's blatently a connection they aren't necessarily one and the same.

Gorammit, I thought the Blue Hand guys were the best, scariest (the balding guy's eyes are terrifying!) and most mysterious thing in Firefly and it's them and their intentions (which obviously include River) that I was most looking to find out more about.

I hope they at least have a small role - something akin to the end of The Train Job, but scarier (like in War Stories).

Keep your eye out on "Comedy Central Presents" for Pablo Fransisco. He does a great bit about how that movie trailer voice-over guy can make anything sound dramatic. Specifically his 'movie' involved Ahnold and some tortillas.

Maybe we've already heard the trailer voice-over. Maybe they'll just redo the Mal and/or Book opening narratives from the series.

Does a perfect job of settin' up the premise without giving anything away.

I was in Canada a couple of days ago and I went to see Hero - great film, if anyone is wondering what to watch.

Anyway, nearly every single trailer just gave away the entire plotline of the story - why bother going to the film. Whatever happened to allowing the audience to take a risk and see a film in which they don't know 75% of the plotline?
