OK! I'm starting this thread to keep everyone posted about the goings-on at I-Con. If you're wondering, What the heck's I-Con, it's a sci-fi con in Stony Brook, NY, April 8-10, and guests will include the lovely Jewel Staite and the dashing Keith DeCandido, author of the "Serenity" novelization, plus many cool non-FF guests. It should be a super-shiny time!

General info can be found at http://www.iconsf.org/. Info of special interest to FF fans: Copies of the book of FF essays, "Finding Serenity," will be on sale, and if you are a points whore--I mean, companion--over at the SB, Serenity Leader tells me there's 600 points waiting for you if you take a picture of yourself there.

And we are doing both a Browncoat table and a Browncoat get-together! Whew! I am trying to wrangle lots of shiny giveaways and things we could raffle (either for charity or for a free drawing, it depends on the con rules, which I am trying to sort out). Also, we can't show episodes, but we can show fanvids.

Soooo...if you want to help out, we are looking for artwork we could display/give away/raffle. If you're coming to the con, we could always use help at the table or at the get-together (e.g. help decorating or with refreshements). And if you have a fanvid you'd like your fellow Browncoats to see, let me know. Y'all can e-mail me at mbsisson AT att DOT net or post here.

You'll notice a few glitches--like our get-together at 5 pm Sat. is called a fan forum, and they're only giving us an hour (?). I'm trying to get that one hammered out. But Jewel will be there both Saturday and Sunday.
