oh yes...Jose is a friend of mine, too...
i just heard of the new Dark Cuervo... on the rocks - i might have to give a test run....

back to the sex on drugs thing.... i do have to say that back in the old college days i tried sex on cocain...that was interesting...

And hey, please don't get the idea that i am a big drug addict, cause i'm not - i did experiment in my youth - or as Al Franken once said - "When I was young and stupid, I was young and stupid"... but i firmly believe in the individuals right to choose their own lifestyle - some people get high on life - (some people - ok say it with me....juggle geese...)

Oddly enough, I've thought that geese would add a new challenge to that particular hobby. Is there a connection here between getting high on life and juggling? I shall have to ponder on this...
Nah, probably not. I know, it's just a to each their own deal.
I knew a woman who had a, um, star-buddy (can't call friends with benifits as they weren't really friends) who turned out to be really big into cocaine. Acording to her, he was only "good" when he was strung out. The whole situation did not end well (for a number of reasons)

Oh geez. That is toooo funny.

Life of the party.hmmmmmmmmmmm. Haven't had a drink since 2002. (Husband is an alcoholic). Last time I drank I had 5 pints of lager, a six pack of Mike's Lemonade, 1 bottle of Merlot. Apparently I took offense at something a man said to me and insulted all his countryman by making a joke in favor of North American and Aussie men and then on the way home took off all my clothing in the care because I thought (according to my spouse) that I had trod in dog poo.

I DO NOT REMEMBER anything after getting to the pub.

Scary Scary!

My ex had an ex who'd have sex on acid, apparently she had the most amazing hallucinations with orgasm.

I've never tried acid myself, seems so scary, but I must admit to being intrigued...

btw - funny that Jose came up, I was using it to grill corn Monday night (wrap up ear of corn in foil with butter, cumin, and a big splash of tequila, oh yummy) and it occurred to me that this is the only thing I've used Jose for in like 3 years. I'm getting old! I used to love tequila! Upside down margaritas, weeee!

I must agree with phoenixrose on the sex with drugs thing. It's the weirdest and sadest thing I have ever heard.

Interesting side note: Am I (and possibly phoenixrose) the only one on this thread that has never done drugs?????????????

Also, I believe there was a question involving whether chocolate is neccesary or not. It is absolutely neccesary, an essential part of life.

Oh oh oh - just remembered a story - A friend clipped it out of a newspaper once. Seriously, I'm not making it up!!

Things not to do: a guy shot cocain directly into his diao. (useful Chinese I've learned through FF) Well, it was hard for three days then it fell off!

Umm...am I the only one in here who has never taken an illegal pharmaceutical product? No marijuana, no cocaine, no heroin...not even special brownies...it was and remains a personal choice. I do like alcohol every now and then, and I really like my Vicodin and Hydrocodone (many, many back and other problems...mostly worked out now ). Being on the pain killers while engaged in intercourse has it's merits, but I much prefer to be totally "me" while it's happening.

And Mal4Prez, tequilla is evil and must be destroyed!

Mostly because some people close themself off to all potential intimacy, some go too far the other way seeking it everywhere, and another separate minority remains in the middle with a different set of issues. I would say that a lot of self-confidence goes out the window in any scenario. Or at least in certain respects.

Immunity is the craziest thing ever. I have theory that it's because I operate on a higher level than other people (mom thinks I'm hypomanic) and marijuana merely brings me down to "normal" levels, so I don't really notice the "high". Maybe if I smoked my weight in one night I'd feel something . . .

I am not immune to ephedra however. Though I think that might still be legal.

Okay aparently ya'll been busy while I had to go do workie stuff.
On the issue of majania which I'm sure I just spelled wrong makes me happy but in no way ever made me want to have sex. Also I don't smoke so it generally burns to much to get very high.
Alcohol=Very very friendly me. My real friends reconize this so they keep me safe at parties and what not. No no bad but that down....trust me darling you don't really want to do that.
Here's a little bit of too much information. Before my current significant other I didn't even like sex. Don't get me wronge I'm a normal (sort of) human and so yes I was a hormonal teenager so..... Anyway whenever things got to sex I just couldn't feel anything and it was incredably frustating especially for whoever I was with. Significant other taught me how to just relax and enjoy myself. Kinda back fired on him later but that's another story for another time.

ok, i'm not trying to be a kill-joy here (buzz kill? whatever you crazy kids say these days)... but you might consider this:

Chocolate: food or drug? by Bruinsma K, Taren DL
Arizona Prevention Center, University of Arizona, College of Medicine

Although addictive behavior is generally associated with drug and alcohol abuse or compulsive sexual activity, chocolate may evoke similar psychopharmacologic and behavioral reactions in susceptible persons.......Chocolate contains several biologically active constituents (methylxanthines, biogenic amines, and cannabinoid-like fatty acids), all of which potentially cause abnormal behaviors and psychological sensations that parallel those of other addictive substances. Most likely, a combination of chocolate's sensory characteristics, nutrient composition, and psychoactive ingredients, compounded with monthly hormonal fluctuations and mood swings among women, will ultimately form the model of chocolate cravings. Dietetics professionals must be aware that chocolate cravings are real. The psychopharmacologic and chemosensory effects of chocolate must be considered.........

My problem is that I get the opposite reaction - sleeping pills make me wired and hype my heart rate - same with tranqs. Speed and things that work like speed make me really really sleepy. Whenever I have surgery, they are always worried ccause it takes A LOT of pain medicine to kick in.

But then I heal really fast and have a high threshold for pain anyway.

Pot makes me really um "excited" but I also dwell on one word or phrase and when you stop talking, I am still one that one word.

I can drink most men I know under the table, I don't get hangovers ever - but I do get alcohol poisoning.

So, I stick to my asthma medicine and Firefly

This is quite true. I once tried givving it up for 12 weeks, just to see if I could. The first few weeks were pure hell, then after a while I found I wasn't fancying it as much. It's those first withdrawal pangs that are the killers.

I'm one of those strange people that get an endorphin rush from Chinese food. I think it's the monosodium glutamate or something but people give me very strange looks at the moans of pleasure I make when I eat Dim Sum!

As for other drugs, only ever tried weed twice. I had a blast but then I was having such a good time anyway that I'm not sure how much was due to the drug (how could you not feel stoned gazing out at a white sand beach in Zanzibar with shooting stars and a giant bonfire and the waves lapping at your toes! Ahhhh!)

CoPilot - I didn't like sex much, but it had a lot to do with represses anger, the knowledge that SURELY he(spouse) was going to give me an STD, and the fact that he was only interested in himself. If I remember how to do it right, I am hoping to enjoy it again!

Right then guys...

A new problem for you.

There is a guy that lives in my building and is on my course at uni. We started lending DVD's (Firefly for BSG etc)and just generally chatting and every so often he'd come up to my room and we'd talk or play cards or whatever. Here's me thinking, great a good mate, we have similar tastes etc...

Then he gets drunk one night and starts texting me saying he's really into me and that's why he come's up to my room etc...I didn't reply because he was clearly wasted, but he just would not let it go after that. Even after I made it clear I wasn't interested.

He eventually agreed that we should just be friends and we gradually started talking again. We're going to the cinema next week (prior agreement before all this started). He's booked tickets and when I asked how much he said he's buying them and I should just get popcorn or something.

I'm uncomfortable with this because I don't want him to think I'm leading him on but I also can't tell if this is a just a friendly offer. So now I'm stuck. If it is just a friend thing then I could wreck it by making a big deal out of it but I'm desperately trying not to send 'signals' here.

What do you guys think?

Whoa - how are you still alive? I think I can manage five drinks if I'm really on a roll, and that's about it!

Emma: I've never faked it, although at times I've wanted to, in the Kinda of tired and ready to be done now situation. But it seemed so much work to fake it, and I'm not much of an actress.

Tristan and you other pharmaceutical fans: I spent two months on my sofa taking vicodin once, because I had two ruptured disks. (It took the bastards that long to get me into surgery.) While it was nice in its own way, it was also VERY scary. I couldn't keep track of how many I was taking. Once I found myself putting one in my mouth 30 seconds after I'd decided not to take another for a few hours.

It might have been the pain more than the drug, because I stopped cold turkey after the surgery. But it was too creepy having that stuff play with my brain. I'm so leary of painkillers now...

Mmm. Could possibly be a touchy subject, Tayeatra. Is could be that he is trying to remain friends, and this is a gesture along those lines. Could be he is still interested in you and is trying a different approach. I do not think he is setting a trap for you. In his shoes, if I still liked you and knew you did not feel the same, I would still try to stay close to you...not stalker-like, but friendly. And buying things like tickets would be "friendly" without being overbearing.
So, buy the popcorn, enjoy the movie, and don't think too heavily into motive. Or, seek other advice, because I may be barking up the wrong tree. See what the other females think...I am sure I missed something!

Well, from a females point of view. He "says" its just friends, but in his heart its a date.

In my experience, once the "i'm into you" has been let out of the bag - it takes a long time, if ever to get to the "just friends" again, and to get there you need a little anger first.

Its up to you. Be very open that you are happy to go and buy the popcorn, but you are going as if you and I as mates were going and I said - I'll buy the tickets, you buy the drink.

I agree with Tristan but with one extra point. Insist on buying him a drink or something next time you go out 'to pay him back'. That way you can accept his kindness whilst still subtelly reinforcing your independance and the just friends thing.

I had a major problem with this kind of thing at Uni. There was a guy that didn't seem to have many friends in the sci-fi club (that I was captain of ) so I went out of my way to be nice to him. Turns out there was a reason! He was very odd. Kept trying to hit on me even after I'd told him (in much less subtle ways that I was used to) that I wasn't interested. In the end he turned up at my birthday party and started hitting on all my friends (of both sexes which really freaked some of them out!)

He still texts and e-mails me sometimes (which is freaky since I never gave him my number) but I just ignore him.

I'm sure your friend is much nicer though, and much less creepy! It's the story of my life though that I don't have the confidence to talk to anyone I fancy, just to the ones I don't, thereby giving them the wrong idea!

Tayeatra -

I had one of these. After we went out once I told him I didn't want to date, and that seemed fine. We had a brother/sister relationship for years and it worked fine, even though it seemed hard on him when I dated others. I even crashed at his house a few times, sharing the bed, but platonically.

Then last year he got a permanent girlfriend, and I think it was too weird for him to be around me while dating her. We quit hanging out. So sad! I miss the friendship.

Point being, I think you can have a friendship in that situation if you're clear as to your intent, but it's on shaky foundations. I don't think it was easy on him, and it makes me sad now. I'm not sure I'd do it the same.

One thing that bothers me is the issue of why males and females can't be friends without "something" there. I will admit that I am as guilty as anyone for wanting something more with a female friend than she is interested in giving, but that has never cost me a friendship. I have had several female friends, some of whom I had a crush on, and some not, but they are usually the most loyal, understanding counterpart you can have. I did not lose them when they began dating or married (although I have lost touch with a few because of distance), and never felt jealous. I guess it's weird, but I am sure there are several other males here that feel the way I do.

I wonder how he is in bed? If big hands and big feet and big ears are the sign then he has to be big. He's such a great guy, why don't you try sleeping with him? But luckily we were better friends than most and we never had sex. We are very close and she is married with two kids, one on the way. P.S. Thanks TRISTAN for the advice last week. The woman in question actually stood me up on Saturday night, but it was so she could spend time with her son. We will have lunch on Friday and that "clarification" of intentions will be addressed.

Oh, and the fake orgasm thing... I have to give it up to Meg Ryan, in the movie - When Sally met ...somebody Harry? Larry... i don't remember (i know guys shouldn't be watching chick-flicks, but that was hi-larious)...best fake orgasm ever on film....

A little random info for any Buffy fans out there, Alison Hannigan apparently played that part when the stage version came to the West End. Sadly I missed it! I would have paid good money to see that!

So on the issue of fake orgasms I've only ever done it twice. Once because well they were trying so hard and after a couple of hours I had to take pity on the poor soul. Second because I got board but they were also trying so damn hard and well......I was getting a little sore.

a couple of HOURS?

*FMF faints dead away at the knowledge that it should at least take more than the 1 minute 35 seconds she is used to*

I have to disagree with them. A dance can sometimes just be a dance. Don't get me wrong, there are times when a dance can be some pretty serious foreplay, and boy-howdy are those kind of dances fun! As a male, I look at a dance as a chance to get to know someone a little better, get the chance to smile at them from a close distance, and hopefully charm them a bit . I do not look at a dance as a chance for some groping or drooling.
Am I alone in this?

Holding until you get back, Captain.

Sorry darlin but yeah some people do spend more than 1min 35sec having sex. I can't go all that long very often because well ummmmm sometimes I just get board. And I'm sure as a female you've had the very unpleasent experience of getting sore in you're special spot.

An I carried such a torch

Ah! I've done it a few more times than that. Does this make me a bad person? I just get bored so easily! It's not that I can't relax and enjoy myself, just usually not twice in a row and with a bloke that manfully refuses to give up when you just want to go to sleep ... you can see where I'm going with this. Am I being a coward? How would you men like a woman to behave in these circumstances?

WORSHIPMAL

a quick introduction may be in order - although it's my first post on this thread, I've been following the male and female imponderables ever since part deux got started, and with great interest! i love what you all are talking about here. EmmaRigby - i also have to 'fess up to faking it more than just a couple of times. i honestly can't even remember the first time it happened, i think it probably started as "over-acting", just to reassure him a little you know? from there... it's a slippery slope. and i agree with you - i do enjoy myself (quite a bit usually ) but sometimes it just doesn't need to go on all night, and sometimes i know no matter how hard he tries, i just don't have another *O* in me!
