THG...the screen and the peppermint oil have worked to keep the chipmunks away from my sprouting green beans! No animals were harmed in the task....although some may have gotten a snoot-full of peppermint!

'full disclosure on the chipmunk front....I did not see this, however my husband told me about it. I have been keeping the rodents away form my garden with screening and peppermint oil..however one of the little chipmunks took a dive into a small pool we have for one of our dogs and drowned! I felt terrible, so yesterday started tailing out the pool...when I got it low enough, said husband came out to help me tip the rest of the water out...and I slipped and went face first into mud and muck!! We laughed a LOT!! So call it chipmunk's revenge!!

I'm a tired old hippy chick...but the protest march was peaceful and beautiful...police were kind and helpful and the crowd of people so lovely and diverse...we had people standing along the highway cheering us on. I am so glad I took part...now we all must VOTE!!

UGH...ended up spending the day at both the vets' and then researching leg braces for a dog! Our elderly Rottie has apparently torn her ACL in a rear leg. She's not a good candidate for surgery so we're going to try the brace along with laser treatments and see how that goes.

Rough night; the couple who stayed with us over the weekend were in a head-on collision in North Carolina and it was hard getting information...but we spoke with them today; both are hospitalized with many broken bones and the man has to have surgery on his pelvis this afternoon. So it was a mostly sleepless night but we are relieved that they are mostly okay. We might have to travel to NC to get them once they are both okay to travel.

Thanks, THG...Currently a niece of theirs has offered to get them once they're released from the hospital...but we're standing by in case we need to go get the wife as she's not needed surgery so she can stay with us until her husband is released. So sorry for them as it has been a dream of theirs to tour the country on a motorcycle. We're hoping for the best!

Our 13 year old Rottweiler is hanging in there. She is still limping pretty badly. The brace we got for her is okay...but she doesn't like wearing it much so we try and get her to wear it for a few hours a day. Since she's not a good candidate for surgery, we're just trying to keep her calm and as comfortable as possible. CBD oil seems to help, too.
