Finding Serenity: Space Western Ventures into Deep Space Looking for Trouble
Joss Whedon's Film a Spin-Off of TV Series Firefly
An article by Matthew Kelsey
Published Sept. 27, 2005

This is a very good article that gives detailed background as to the marketing campaign, promotion and goings on by all parties. It also has some telling info as to why Universal and Fox are reluctant to greenlight a sequel.

Sounds promising, especially since Universal has the original nine cast members signed on act in two possible sequels.

Which reminds me: Has this ever been confirmed? Personally I think it was a false rumor all along.

One of the actors Sean? Morena? mentioned the contracts for two sequels and when they would expire. I also think this is standard practice to have contract for 2 sequels. That is why a lot of movies don't go past the third one because the contracts have to be re-negociated.

From what i remember, I believe the contracts have expired.

That is why it is so good when the actors and Joss talk about being ready to do more Firefly/Serenity in a heartbeat.
