While not full featured, I finally finished enough of the paging code for FFF.NET 2.0 so that it works. I'll continue to fine tune it and will probably add a box in there somewhere so that one can go to a specific page, which should come in handy since there are currently 893 pages of 50 threads each. That's roughly about 44650 discussion topics.

For the curious, this was the very first post about Firefly on this site.

I'm also working on adding search to the site, but it'll take a bit longer as it requires the database server to be upgraded. Search is very CPU intensive. Currently no timetable as to when that will happen, but I hope it won't be too long.

TWO, a member on FFF.NET, has provided me with several banners pic for the 2.0 site. The banners are currently being rotated every minute.

If you are interested in designing banners for the site, these are the specs.

1300x180 pixels
Should contain graphics related to Firefly.
"fireflyfans.net" wording on left side using papyrus font or something similar.
Credit yourself in smaller fonts at lower left corner of banner (left of your screen). Use "banner by your_name/handle" or similar wording.

That's about it for now. Still have a long list of things to do. So far, still can't post on the beta site. That's coming. I just want to get all the viewable stuff out of the way before going on to posting.

Next up is probably the reference database, which has been missing from FFF.NET for a while. While dated and perhaps even terse when compared to other online resources, it should still provide invaluable info for fanfic writers.

Anyway, more later. Going to watch Caprica.

I don't know how useful it'll be though, considering that many fanfics were ranked very high.

In the future, I'll probably add a "Most Viewed" list, which may be a better index as to which particular fanfics are most popular.

Thank you. Whoa, I see what you mean: 29.5 pages of 10s, more than a tenth of the entire list. Not exactly a Gaussian distribution. Oh well, reckon I've been guilty of contributing to that skew.

Scrolling through page by page (using Next Page) works as I expected, but when I tried scrolling through by clicking on the last number in each list of available pages, it only updated the list once (ie from page 1, listing pages 1 thru 10, clicking on 10 I got to page 10 with the list showing pages 10 thru 19. Clicking on 19 I got to page 19, still showing pages 10 thru 19).

My humble appologies. Continuing on, the list of pages (top & bottom) is eleven pages long (ie 20 thru 30; 30 thru 40, etc), so it takes but one click to go forward 10 pages at a time. Exactly what I wanted.
