Yes. I'm looking forward to watch Disney fail hard yet again.

Sorry about that Alan. You need to fire your agent.

I only knew he was in it because I just watched this last night.

Disparu didn't mention him or possibly doesn't even know who Alan is or know anything about Firefly. I just happened to recognize him in a brief scene he showed from the movie.

Gotta hand it to the guy, he's still looking great for his age.

Jude Law on the other hand, really isn't. I don't know if it was the Hook makeup to blame or what, but I didn't even recognize the dude. I thought that was Ewan McGregor.

Anyhow, it's time to fire all the RACISTS AND SEXISTS at Disney. Nobody wants to watch any of their Racist and Sexist "re-imaginings" which are wholly unoriginal and uninspired anymore.

The problem is the child actors have zero charisma. Don't believe me? Download the movie for free. Even Disney does not care enough to request that this stinking movie be taken down from the file sharing servers:

Just more WOKE trash.

The ‘Woke Mind Virus’ Is Eating Away at Republicans’ Brains and might change the 2024 Election outcomes

Republican politicians — from presidential contenders to anonymous state legislators — are monomaniacally focused on banning books, fighting “wokeness” and harassing transgender people. Some Republicans are even still denying the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election, doubling down on the election-related conspiracies that hobbled many Republican candidates in the midterms.

Not only do Americans not care about the various Republican obsessions — in a recent Fox News poll 1 percent of respondents said “wokeness” was “the most important issue facing the country today” — but a large majority say that those obsessions have gone too far. According to Fox, 60 percent of Americans said “book banning by school boards” was a major problem. Fifty-seven percent said the same for political attacks on families with transgender children.

It is not for nothing that in Biden’s first TV ad of the 2024 campaign, he took specific aim at conservative book bans as a threat to freedom and American democracy.

And yet there’s no sign that Republicans will relent and shift focus. Just the opposite, in fact; the party is poised to lurch even farther down the road of its alienating preoccupations. On abortion, for example, Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, says candidates need to address the issue “head-on” in 2024 — that they can’t be “uncomfortable” on the issue and need to say “I’m proud to be pro-life.”

But the Republican Party has veered quite far from most Americans on abortion rights, and in a contested race for the presidential nomination, a “head-on” focus will possibly mean a fight over which candidate can claim the most draconian abortion views and policy aims.

There’s more: DeSantis is in the midst of a legal battle with Disney, one of the most beloved companies on the planet, and House Republicans are threatening the global economy in order to pass a set of deeply unpopular spending cuts to widely used assistance programs.

Taken together, it’s as if the Republican Party has committed itself to being as off-putting as possible to as many Americans as possible. That doesn’t mean the party is doomed, of course. But as of this moment, it is hard to say it’s on the road to political success.

As for Joe Biden? The current state of the Republican Party only strengthens his most important political asset — his normalcy. He promised, in 2020, that he would be a normal president. And he is promising, for 2024, to continue to serve as a normal president. Normal isn’t fun and normal isn’t exciting. But normal has already won one election, and I won’t be surprised if it wins another.

The Republican Party's obsession with Disney won't help it in the 2024 election. See Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (and Presidential candidate) war on Disney.

Ron DeSantis Declares War on Disney
A handpicked panel of the Florida governor’s cronies has voted to sue the corporation after it clashed with him over his “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

The Sunshine State’s newly instituted Central Florida Central Tourism District Board of Supervisors—a handpicked panel of DeSantis cronies that includes a pastor who once took to YouTube to suggest that drinking water could turn people gay—convened an emergency meeting to vote unanimously on Monday to sue Disney.

Just what the tourism board intends to sue Disney over is not yet clear; the filing is reportedly scheduled for next week, and in the meantime, the panel’s chairman, Martin Garcia, is gesturing toward a blanket repudiation of the board’s governing mandate by Disney.

In the coded argot of DeSantis-branded persecution at the hands of the woke corporate state, Disney’s objections magically become, as Garcia puts it, an affront to the idea of progress: “In essence, Disney is asking a federal court in Tallahassee to wrestle back the hands of time to 1967, while this board is instead charged legislatively with bringing the district into the 21st century, with new and better policies and practices.”

But apart from alleging that the imagineers of Tomorrowland wish to preside over a legislative Yesterdayland, the point of the board’s actions seems to be the same one driving most of DeSantis’s governing agenda: a bid to flood news cycles with culture-war agitprop to elevate the governor’s profile ahead of his planned run for the presidency, reported to be officially announced later this month. In the bid to continually one-up former president Donald Trump’s own crusade against the sinister machinations of wokeness in our schools and corporate boards, DeSantis needs to be seen as a more disciplined and results-oriented Christian soldier battling the woke mind virus.

There is no republican book burning going on. They're just taking books with people fucking in them or having their dicks cut off out of public schools. You can still buy these books in bookstores and online.

The REAL book burning comes from the left, when places like Amazon prohibit the sale of books the ShitLibs don't approve of, and take movies like Gone With the Wind out of their streaming rotation and prohibit their sale.

Peter Pan to me is a public domain character, it is like Hercules or Robin Hood, stories of Japanese Samurai or the Chinese Monkey King or Greek or Egypt and Native American Legends or Sherlock Holmes, these story are part of human history and nobody owns them.
Peter Pan might have even lacked originality back in its day, the playfulness and musical pipes a representation of Greece paganism stories or maybe the Greek god Pan
A studio might attempt to argue different that they own the rights to this amazing work and you should pay them money but the original creator is long since gone.

I would ague that some do have 'charm' and can sell, for example Shirley Temple was one where people went wow that kid can sing and dance, Michael Jackson was also a child performer, Macaulay Culkin was able to pull off 'cool'...but there is something weird about it these days, rumors some of them exploited or even abused, some turned out ok-ish Mickey Rooney, Christian Bale, Elijah Wood, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Elle Fanning, Alfonso Ribeiro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ron Howard are others who did the child actor thing.

but for every success story there are hundreds of trainwrecks and Hollyweird can mess up a lot of them, destroy their lives.

then you had other people who 'Look Young' but played even younger kids, Gary Coleman, Haley Joel Osment still has a young face, Ralph Macchio...or ones who returned to movies later in life like Drew Barrymore

its on Pirate sites but probably will be taken down

but Why is the overall story of this film not copyright free?

Usually around the world they say 70 years for a song or comic or book...so let's ask why is every story before 1953 Not Open and part of our World's Common Heritage and Why is it NOT in the Public Domain?
How powerful are these companies with Cartoon Ducks or Bunny or 'The Mouse' and should all these old animated icons not also belong to everyone in America and what do they gain politically by doing this stuff?

In Hollywood there is a new wave of weirdness, inside every tinseltown made film these days there is a special
'The Message'
I don't know when it really started but I began to notice it during the Trump Years, a forced political statement and things appear in news about Tv shows or Video Games 2017 - 2018 American superhero film ...everyone was pushing a left message or some derangement syndrome.
I got to see from comic fans that Captain Marvel was a comicbook character until DC comics sued and shut it down, then you had Captain Marvel or Mar-Vell ... but for some reason the Marvel everyone knowns onscreen is a Blonde Feminist, a Black Woman and then a Pakistan muslim culture 'Marvel'?
While crimes and Weinstein weridness was getting exposed 'the Message' got pushed even more.

Every era and decade and generation is different there were periods we had a ColdWar between the USA and Soviet Russia, when the USSR was still around and movies got 'Patriotic Americana' Top Gun, Rocky, Rambo, Red Dawn, the Chuck Norris Films

Some decades you had the Boomer Post-Vietnam War message, you had revisionist Westerns and movies that commented on the Counter-Culture era and pointless War in Vietnam.

You also had eras of McCarthyism, fear of infiltration and you had more simple Movies where Japan and Germany one bunch of guys were good the other were evil, Cowboys and Indians

and before this eras where many of our film genres were born, the Racist 'Birth of a Nation' it is very politically forced promotes the Lost Cause Confederate ideology which in its own weird way does have good camera andf film moments, Birth of a Nation actually is a piece of good reel and editing and skilled film making even though it was made by terrible people, I have never seen the film it is 3 hours long but I have seen some clips from it. Griffith was even told that 'The Clansmen' was not an appropriate title, its sales figures were overtaken by Gone with the Wind 1939, another film about the Civil War and Reconstruction era but less politics and dealing with the subject in a far more respectful way. if you ignore the politics and just look at the skill of film its camera was ground breaking for its time, an old film from France the Trip to the Moon Le voyage dans la lune another great, a French adventure short film directed by Georges Méliès and Nosferatu Symphony of Horror a 1922 silent German Expressionist horror film directed by F. W. Murnau...each era defined by their own films that capture moments in culture and record the film ideas of that time, they broke ground and made a lot of the film styles of today.
Captain Marvel were 1967 and Whiz Comics Fawcett Publications 1940 and back in those days they were Men.

but now every film has this political message, the weird transexual pro-islamism Gay Black Lesbian diversity message.
If you want to make a good film that features Gay or Homosexual issues or Lesbians going about their life then make one
of you want to make a movie about Black African American life then do it.
That is why I watch a lot of overseas foreign stuff, small American indie film or South Korean tv

You can make a movie about Lesbian Gay life or Black African American issues, or the oppression a Family of muslim might face in the Middle East, you can make a movie about a Dude who wears a a dress or a Woman who feels Tomboy or a cross dresser but mixing everything together in a confused mess seems wrong.

But to force everything together is just weird

Someone told me there is an agenda a studio will get more support if it displays these 'Social Justice Virtue Signal Multi Culture Points' before a movie is even filmed, its got so bad I now watch 'The Critical Drinker', 'Nerdrotic' and other channels to see if a movie is going to be a complete waste of my time, they have a good diverse group of friends difference ethnic groups, different sexes who are just sick to death of 'The Message' and they review and watch just so I don't have to.

I know the story of 'Peter Pan' a Scottish guy wrote it long ago, and generally I avoid a lot of re-imaginings and remakes so I avoid watching something remade for the Third , Fourth, Fifth, Sixth or remade even for the 10th time... maybe remakes sound be called 'umpteenth time' An expression of frustration, Peter Pan is not just Scottish it is a very unique American thing loved by kids who grew uup in different decades in America, Paramount Pictures adaptation of the original stage play, the Walt Disney came along, in the 90s Steven Spielberg made 'Hook'....it has already been done to death before it was remade once again half a dozen more times, do not blame Peter Pan or 'Alan Tudyk'....Art might be downstream from overall 'Culture' and US Culture has been dying long before the latest monstrosity production of 'Pan'

I didn't notice it (in entertainment) before the MTV's 2017 New Years Resolutions for White Guys came out. That was also the first time I heard the word "woke"... when they told "white guys" to stop using the word woke. I'm pretty sure nobody used the word woke until that commercial dropped.

Yeah. This is in many ways similar to tax incentives from the Federal Government offered to businesses to hire non-whites and non-males, which is something that has been going on a lot longer than 2017. It's all about destroying meritocracy, and is one of the biggest reasons that companies don't work today and good customer service has disappeared.

Did you ever read about how if you want your film considered for the award shows you have quotas to meet now? Maybe that was what they were telling you about.

The first set of stipulations, grouped as Standard A, has already earned the most attention, and with good reason: It’s meant to encourage diversity in front of the camera for an industry that still defaults to white actors. To satisfy the demands of Standard A, only one of these three criteria needs to be met:

At least one actor from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group must be cast in a significant role.

The story must center on women, L.G.T.B.Q. people, a racial or ethnic group or the disabled.

At least 30 percent of the cast must be actors from at least two of those four underrepresented categories.

----------------------

Standard B is focused on hiring behind the scenes and asks productions to meet at least one of the following criteria:

Two or more department heads — meaning jobs like director, cinematographer or composer — must be female, L.G.T.B.Q., disabled or part of an underrepresented racial or ethnic group.

At least six other crew members must be from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group.

At least 30 percent of the film’s crew must hail from the four underrepresented groups continually laid out in these guidelines.

In 1953, Peter saves Wendy from death because he is gentleman. Seventy years later, in 2023 6ixStringJack is not a gentleman and Wendy must save herself because Captain Hook has killed Peter, she thinks. Then Wendy capsizes the Pirate ship to drown all the pirates. That seems fair since the Pirates expected to be entertained by Wendy drowning. The 2023 Wendy shows her enemies only death and no mercy, be they Trumptards or Pirates.

In 1953 the pirates got away alive. In 2023 the pirates got what they deserved, except Captain Hook and First Mate Smee. Neither drowned but you didn’t learn that until the credits roll. It’s Peter Pan who wanted Hook and Smee to live. Peter tried to save Hook from Wendy’s Wrath. Wendy wanted all pirates dead, Dead, DEAD for what the pirates tried and failed to do. Wendy wasn’t accepting apologies or handing out second chances. The Trumptards I know are always expecting forgiveness when their plans fail but they should not get pardoned when they don’t succeed.

Captain Hook is a nice guy in Peter Pan (1953) compared to the evil Captain Hook from Peter Pan & Wendy (2023):

Captain Hook: My time for joy is lost. Everything I could have been has been reduced to this.
(Captain Hook touches his hook)
This is what growing up looks like.

Wendy: No. This is what it looks like when you grow up wrong.

Captain Hook: You find me a child who truly knows the difference between right and wrong and I’ll show you a man who can’t remember why it mattered in the first place.
(pause, turns to his crew)
Execute every last one of them.
(the crew takes the children to the pirate ship deck)

Captain Hook: Farewell then. Wendy Moira Angela Darling.

An excellent montage follows before Wendy is to be drowned by Captain Hook. She whispers the magic words to defy gravity, “Think happy thoughts.” For a few seconds all of Wendy’s past and her plans for the future flash onto the screen, stretching from being a teenager to an old woman. Wendy clearly has long-term goals, but first, she must end Captain Hook.

The big difference between 1953 and 2023 Peter Pan is what happens when Captain Hook tries to kill Wendy by drowning her. A Wendy in 2023 is facing guys like 6ix:

Yeah. Sure. Some pre-teen rich girl that is great at sword fighting against her two younger brothers with wooden toy swords is going to take on a bunch of grown ass adult men and save everyone because female parts.

But then, in the REAL WORLD, you're the bad guy if you don't want to let dudes beat up on women in female sports.

Democrats are cancer.

This has nothing to do with me, buddy.

70lb rich girl doesn't go on a boat full of grown ass men with swords who are trying to kill her and live to tell the tale 100 times out of 100.

That only happens in current year Disney flicks when she's suited up with Girl-Parts Plot Armor and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon magic moves.

In fact, one could argue that this is sending a very dangerous message to young girls who are going to grow up believing they possess powers that they don't actually have and that they're a lot safer on the subway than they actually are when a couple of homeless guys who are looking to get their rocks off the wrong way go after her.

No. 2023 Wendy is not a bad-ass Boss Girl. She's Varuca Salt.... Just an entitled little rich brat without an ounce of charisma who would be destroyed in real life if she tried pulling any of that shit, and will certainly end up being a spinster cat lady in adulthood if she somehow managed to live that long.

And that's not the fault of the actress playing her either. It's the fault of the ShitLib writers, directors and producers working at Disney right now.

This is very simple: 2023 Wendy magically raised the Pirate ship out of the water, high up into the air, and then she turned it upside down so that the Pirates would drown when they fell into the sea. That is perfectly fair since the Pirates had intended to drown Wendy by wrapping her in chains and making her "walk the plank", assuming you know what the expression means.

Just before the credits roll, the movie revealed Captain Hook and First Mate Smee had not died as Wendy intended but popped up like corks out of the water. Lucky pair of Pirates not killed by the magical Wrath of Wendy. Real-life Wendy would need a shotgun and ammo to kill the Pirates for real by shooting them in the face and neck. I guess Disney didn't want to go there because that is an R-rated movie.

Lame.

Wendy was an important character in the original story. A caring woman and nurturer who helped the Lost Boys finally grow up.

The three female characters in Girl Power Land are boring and uninspired. You might as well have just put Rey, Captain Marvel and a plank of wood in their place and the movie would have been the same.

Disney is incapable of creating anything interesting when they hire a bunch of women and minorities who have no skills just to fill quotas.

Just saw a preview for The Little Mermaid in the theater the other day. The audience reaction was priceless. Just groaning when we weren't all laughing at parts that I'm sure weren't intended to be funny.

Nobody wants to see your agenda trash for "modern audiences", and now the average person who doesn't even pay attention to politics is onto Disney's game.

LOL....

Oh. I didn't even realize this was yet another Disney BOMB they decided not to even release in theaters even though it was supposed to get a theatrical release in April.

Just like Pinocchio, Disney knew they put out more trash.

That was $170 Million well spent!

64% Critics Score (123 reviews) / 12% Audience score (2500+)on Rotten Tomatoes. 4.2 out of 10 on IMDB.

Pinocchio got 23% Critic Score and 22% Audience score on RT and a 5.0 on IMDB. This piece of trash was even worse received by general audiences than the Tom Hanks failure was.

Keep losing that money, Disney.
