Just finished watching it last night and yeah. Didn't do Indy any justice at all.

No spoilers but they threw everything at this film to see if it would stick and nothing really did.

That's just the type of stuff that Hollywood has been doing to pretty much everything that anybody loved for years.

I'm just laughing in general. Not at you, Brenda.

I'm just glad that I don't really have any emotional attachments to any of the major properties and I'm just observing it all going down.

I think at one point I would have said that when they finally get around to remaking and ruining The Goonies is the day that they'll finally break me, but I don't think I really care anymore at this point.

I'm sure one day we're going to be watching "ASS: The Movie" like they were in Idiocracy.

May I point out that original movies not made by Disney suitable for children such as IF (2024), which stands for Imaginary Friends, lost money?

Well, I had hope and the trailer I saw didn't make much sense to me. But the film did explain the trailer at least. It is sad.

I know you've been recounting box office failures for the last while. Now, I am waiting for other stuff to come on DVD like "Killers of the October Moon". Think I will have better luck with that.

I'm not telling anybody not to watch anything. I mean, even if I'm heavily implying it at times, and I won't argue that is not the case, I have no place to tell anybody what they can and can't watch or even what they should or shouldn't watch. I'm nobody special.

I do like hearing when people do get around to watching things that I haven't yet or just plain won't watch though.

I do believe your chances of enjoying Killers of the Flower Moon will be several hundred times greater than the chances of you enjoying Indy 5 were.

I have no real reason not to watch that flick other than it just isn't very interesting to me. I've watched more stuff in the last 2 months than the previous 3 years combined, and it's still not a whole lot. I just don't watch a lot of things that Hollywood puts out anymore, and its gotten increasingly rare for something to grab me.

It's why I'm so hard on things that I don't enjoy after watching them now. It's not even because I put a premium value on my time or anything. But if I make a conscious effort to sit down and watch something I expect that I'm going to find it enjoyable. I just don't like being wrong.

Sorry, if I implied you are telling people not to watch things. I didn't mean that at all.

Oh, I am fairly certain that "Killers of the Flower Moon" will be more interesting that Indy 5. "Killers" has interest to me as I know very little about the Osage. I know oil was found in Oklahoma but not where. And this film implies that a lot of it was found on Osage land and that I know wouldn't have pleased a whole lot of whites. Especially when you have a white main character married to an Osage.

Well, being wrong happens. I was hoping Indy would go out with a bang and not a whimper.

PS. Thank you for correcting me about the title. I am horrible with names.

He went out in a bang. As far as I'm concerned, there were only 3 Indiana Jones movies.

There were only 3 Star Wars movies. There were only 2 Ghostbusters movies. There were only 2 Terminator movies. Etc., etc., etc...

Well sometimes when you want finish out a series, you have got to deal with the crap.

Nope and I can well imagine the fight over the oil. And there seems to be a lot about the film, I am curious about.

Have to agree with you on the Indy films. There were only 3. I've got to get them.

Again thanks.

Yeah. Don't feel bad throwing their trash additions out of a series. They don't feel bad when they do it.

Disney and Kathleen Kennedy threw out the entire extended Star Wars universe that was sanctioned by George Lucas himself and had been growing for decades before she made that decision. She then had the nerve to cry poor when her things started failing left and right saying things like "it's not easy making these stories. it's not like we were given a map or anything". I'm paraphrasing, but the absolute nerve of somebody to say that, given the circumstances that THEY inflicted upon everyone else.

James Cameron decided to throw out all of the Terminator movies except for his first two when he came back as a producer for the woke Terminator movie he added where he killed off CGI John Connor in the first 5 minutes and made a new female Mexican savior for the human race, who was an exact carbon copy of John Connor except he had female parts and he was born in Mexico instead of America.

Sorry buddy. I don't accept your fate for John Connor as canon anymore than I care to recognize any of the crappy movies they did after you quit.

There are only 2 Terminator movies.

Well, I do feel a little bad as 4 and 5 complete the series but yeah. Not going to cry over them.

I know about chucking the expanded Star Wars universe that George Lucas approved. That ticked me off so badly it wasn't funny. She had the road map in front of her direct from the guy who created it all.

I've seen the Terminator movies but I don't really remember all of them. So that is probably just as well.

I've not seen much of the new Ghostbusters films except for the all female one and I wasn't impressed.

Yeah... I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I do intend to rewatch the original trilogy at some point. The Last Crusade was the perfect ending. They knew it when they filmed it too. Money does stupid things to people.

The first one was one of those movies my old man rented and let us watch when we were probably way too young. We'd seen a lot of them by then. Terrifying seeing Arnold as a bad guy for the first time. A year or so later the sequel came out. He took us all out to see it at the full price theaters, which was a rarity. When it made its way to the dollar theater we probably saw it half a dozen times there. The special effects still hold up today for the most part, and they were revolutionary to the industry at the time.

The third movie was a turd, and there was little of interest that came out afterward. Those were the old and expected problems with Hollywood wrapped up in a little bow, and they were just expected at that point. I didn't really get angry about it until they killed John Connor off to make way for super Mexican girl, rendering the entire plot of the first two movies completely pointless.

That's the only one I saw of the new ones as well, and I agree. It wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be for sure, but it was just unnecessary and only served to detract from the legacy, rather than add to it.

If anything, it was the movie that started the movement against Hollywood for these types of remakes. It took a few years, but I think they may have finally got the message. A good 'ole recession probably had more to do with them learning the lesson rather than the outrage though. They made it very clear that anybody who didn't enjoy Ghostbusters 2016 was a sexist and hated women.

Sarah Connor Chronicles was the only outside Movie/TV Show property that had a chance of being a worthwhile addition to the story, which consists otherwise only of the first two movies.

But we all know how that turned out.

And if they can't be bothered to spend the time and the money to not constantly screw over their fanbase, then their show is going to be disregarded as well.

I loved "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade". A friend of mine and her husband at the time saw it on her birthday at the theater. My friend and I had a blast with it, her husband not so much. It has to be my favourite Indy film.

I know the majority of it was written by fans and that is why George approved all the books that were written. I've got a good number of them and they are great.

I saw the first Terminator movie on VHS and it was good and I know I saw the second one too.

No the all female Ghostbusters wasn't that bad but it didn't really do anything for the franchise is all.

Ha, ha.

There are too many Terminator movies and TV shows. Hollywood innovations to make each distinctive and profitable only make each worse:

I've seen Terminator 1, 2 and 3. Never seen any of the tv stuff. Think I've seen Terminator: Salvation and Terminator: Genisys and possible Terminator: Dark Fate.

It's the only one I saw in the theater, so it's special just for that reason. I saw Temple of Doom first, on a tiny TV at my Grandma's house when my dad rented it. Doesn't matter that it was on a tiny TV. It was awesome.

I know the majority of it was written by fans and that is why George approved all the books that were written. I've got a good number of them and they are great.

I never read any of them, but my brother was an avid collector and read tons of them. He's the only reason I knew about how many other people were contributing to it and that if a book was officially published than it was because George Lucas approved of it. I think that's really cool. How many other things can you think of that had something like that surrounding them in an official capacity.

Shame that it was just tossed away by rich people who didn't care about or respect it.

I saw the first Terminator movie on VHS and it was good and I know I saw the second one too.

I haven't seen either of them in 20 years, but saw them a ton when I was a kid. Especially Judgement Day.

I don't think the new ones did much I'd care for either. I don't imagine I'll ever get around to watching any of them.

The thing that Hollywood did to Terminator, that is to say, keep making more and more Terminator until Hollywood goes bankrupt because audiences do NOT want more? Hollywood did the same absurd thing to Indiana Jones:

Same here on "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade". The only reason we hit on that one in the theater is my friend wanted to see a movie and that was the only decent thing playing at the time. I saw the other two on VHS.

Well, the early Star Trek books were fan written, those based on the original show and maybe some of the later ones too. I have quite a few Star Wars books and read them too, so I did enjoy them.

It is a shame.

Been a long time since I've seen the first Terminator movie for sure. I'd probably have to look for it on YouTube now as I don't think my local library has a copy of it anymore.

I haven't made up my mind about seeing this latest Ghostbusters film. "Frozen Empire".

Did you see Ghostbusters: Afterlife?

That one came out in between 2016 and Frozen Empire. Just mentioning it because from what I gather you'd probably be missing quite a bit if you didn't watch Afterlife first.
