In the final episode during all the comotion we see Jayne snoozing in bed. He is startled awake and he looks upward, sensing something. He rips the blanket off the wall revealing all the freaking guns he owns, and just when you think he's going to take action he goes right back to bed with the blanket complaining about the noise. I laughed so hard.

Yeah that was a hilarious scene. My favourite one was at the last bit of Out of Gas when you see Mal looking at Serenity...actually all the scenes in Out of Gas were good.

Now I am learning about scary.

Right. I loved that episode, too. How they managed to meld three storylines together so seamlessly is beyond me. I don't think I even realized there were three storylines the first time I watched it! And I also love that final scene of Mal seeing Serenity for the first time. Priceless.

Geez, there are so many to choose from, don't know if I can pick just one. A lot of my favourites are ones that involve the look on an actor's face, such as

War Stories: Zoe looking at Wash as he describes the "alien" in the jar.

War Stories: Kaylee's look at Simon in the post office, as if saying "You are so dead to me right now."

Objects in Space: Mal rolls his eyes, River says over the intercom "Don't make faces", and Mal's reaction.

And I always love the end of the duel in Shindig. "Mercy is the mark of a great man." *Stab* "I guess I'm just a good one." *Stab* "Well, I'm alright."

I loved the scene where River was fixing Book's Bible. That was hi-larious!

One of my favorite scenes was also in "the Message" when and that whole thing in the room with the "alien". With Simon, Kaylee, then Zoe and Wash. That was all great.

And basically all of Objects in Space was good.

Heck, who am i kidding, everything was good!

I aim to misbehave.

And also the very quick history of the 'Verse (T Rex = Alliance, Stegosaurus = Browncoats, Sudden But Inevitable Betrayal = Unification War.)

Though I think my favorite scene is appreciating the statue in Jaynestown. "This must be what going mad is like."

Fave scene: Simon and Kaylee drunk in Jaynestown. It's fluffy, and funny. I lurve it.

And I love the 'admiring the statue' scene from that one, too. When Simon finally curses... priceless.

TRAVELER

In "Objects In Space" there are a couple of scenes that stand out in my head. When River is bending over in the cargo bay picking up what at first appears to be a branch. The floor is covered with autumn leaves. I guess it was so unexpected. I can understand Joss having River seeing the gun as a twig, but to go through the trouble of covering the floor with those leaves magnified the effect. The other is the scene is at the end when Mal and River. The show starts out with reasonable fear of River and here Mal has shown her his trust by going with her plan to deal with Early. Helping her back on board the ship is a metaphor for "your part of the crew" which is a big step coming from Mal.
But of course there are many scenes that are great. But most of you have beaten to them and I suspect the rest will appear in later posts.

That was just a low-budget classic dinosaur battle, a la the late 50's and on.

My fave is 'Trash,' when Mal gets left in the desert, screaming at the shuttle.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

If I was forced to choose once scene, and one scene only, it would be the one in "Out of Gas" when Mal throws Wash up against the wall and tells him to get up to the bridge. That showed what a true leader Mal was, that the survival of the ship and all of the crew was more important than any one individual.

I'd have to say my favorite scene would be the deleted scene where River becomes jealous of Mal having a wife. She goes up to Simon and tells him that they should be married. The entire crew sorta just walks into this unexpectedly while he's trying to explain to her why they can't do that.

The look on his face throughout is hilarious, especially when Kaylee comes through.

Oh, and her final line about how she's pregnant (has a pillow under her dress).

Got lots. I like the little stuff.

Jayne. Pretentious.

Jaynestown. Simon asking for a menu.

Shindig. That pullback at the end, revealing the cargo.

Pilot. Jayne's look of sheer disgust at the Crazy Ivan rewiring task.

Bushwhacked. River captivated by space.

Zoe and River. Pretty much any time they smile, because they don't, much.

Zoe. What's that? No, what's that?

Jayne gussied up for visiting.

See that? Ideal diversion material.

Kaylee. Some kinda hot cheese. He's a monster.

Book. *Thump* (Laurence) *Bang* "Understood."

River. *Bang, Bang, Bang* "It's the general theory."

Laurence. "I can see I'm not dealing with an idiot."

Jayne. The way he says "Laurence" and the way he says "No" when asked about the feasibility of the assault on Niska's place.

BDM. River shifting her grip while the Feds consider killing them. Luckily (for said Feds), they didn't.

And favourite (because of the music).

Safe. Little tune as River is sussing out the dance steps, she gets it, big grin, and the rest of the band thunders in as she steps off. That was just perfect.

These are mine:
Safe-the shot of River at the end of the dance when she senses that Book's been hit and Simon's been kidnapped.
War Stories-The music from just after Zoe blasts Niska's cronies with dual pistols. And when River shoots the guards with her eyes closed
Serenity (Pilot)- "Sometimes you just want to duct-tape her mouth and leave her in the hold for a month"
BDM-River and Mal in the bridge with the gun cocking

I have a lot, I'll just name a few
1. The beginning of Out of Gas where they show the entire ship with no one in it, I found that very haunting.
2. Also from Out of Gas, I like the bit where you're seeing Mal from under the grate, and then you notive the blood.
3. Book's wacky hair, and River''s reaction, just priceless.
4. Mal dressed up as a woman, very sexy if I do say so myself.
5. Perhaps my all time favorite, "Jayne! The man they call Jayne!"-and Jayne's awkwardness. Also when they see the statue and Kaylee says somethign like "His eyes follow you wherever you go." And also Simon saying, "This is what going insane must feel like." Heh, yea, Jaynestown is my favorite episode.
6. One for good measure, Mal sitting naked on a rock, saying "That went well"-classic

Tough decision really id have to say its in Our Mrs Reynolds even though not so long ago i thought was in Bushwacked with the Jayne and the arm folding but i just keep changing my mind.

Anyway;

Zoe; If she can fly this, why take the shuttle.

Wash; Maybe she likes shuttles?

(everyone stops and looks at Wash)

Wash; Some people juggle geese.

Cracks me up everytime love that part because its totally out of the blue.

Basically all of Objects in Space - the storyline where River becomes Serenity ("...she's very unhappy") is one of the good ideas in that episode. In the commentary Whedon talks about the tactile relationship River has with the ship - all those shots of her feet and hands touching the ship as she walks through it. And in the BDM, the first shot of River is her lying casually on the catwalk.

The scene that hooked me is actually kinda silly in retrospect but it just struck me so funny when I saw it for the first time.

At the end of the train job after Mal tried to give the money back and the first thug refuses, gets tossed into the jet wash and then Mal turns to the number 2 guy and starts into his speech again... The guy cuts him off right away, "I got it. no problem." just the look on his face...

This is an impossible question b/c everytime I think I have one it leads me to another one...the first one or two that popped into my head:

Wash and his dinosaurs in the pilot (this is my son's favorite scene)

Train Job: Jayne with the chain of command and going crazy and falling asleep...had me choking with laughter!

Oh, and I love that the beginning of our Mrs. Reynolds where the entire crew is in the cargo bay meeting Saffron - hilarious!

I'm going to quit here because I could go on and on and on and on...and these are just the first funny ones that came to mind, forget the angsty ones, the scifi shots, the hero shots, ...

My favourites are generally River scenes. There are plenty that aren't, but hers are the best. I particularly like the Mal/River relationship at certain times.

Some highlights, in no particular order (couldn't possibly pick a best one):

-the "Love" scene at the end of the BDM

-the Mal/River spacewalk banter at the end of OiS

-the entire teaser for OiS, with River's slightly psychotic walk through the ship

-also, I can kill you with my brain

-boy, I was there. I'm fair sure you haven't killed anyone yet.

-I don't know if this counts, but the scene from the extended blooper reel where Mal appears all around the room while they're listening to the message in The Message

-the Jayne/Dobson interaction

Okay, I'd better stop now.

I love the look on Jayne's face in Jaynestown when Mal tells him he can't take a gun and he starts to rip off the tape.

There are may funny scenes, all right, but the one, where I alkways hug my pillow and have tears in my eyes is at the end of "out of gas", when Mal in sick bay, being shot, almost bled to death, full of medication, almost falls to sleep, but then he forces himself back, because this is so important to him. And then he asks: You're all gonna be here, when I wake up?

They are as important for him, as he is for them. He is their Captain, but they are his family.
