agreed...I don't even know the character names of the science nerds...but the "girl" is impossible to understand, even with my big surround sound system on...her voice is muffled and her line deliveries...well... I can only assume she is supposed to be saying things that are somewhat humorous, but I'm not getting ANY of it...there's a lot of older fans out there (I'm 57) who have come to expect some really great casting out of a Whedon project....time for Joss to kill a couple off and trade up.

The show seems to be improving quite nicely IMO. The episode last night was pretty good. The could still do much better if they start breaking these characters out of their roles of like boyscout, science nerd, etc. Hopefully that will be coming.

I really wish they had let Simmons die. I like her as eye candy and all, but she's not really pulling her weight on the show. It would be especially good if she sacrificed herself and the team had to deal with that especially seeing that their cure worked and she didn't need to jump. It would be good to see the team deal with failure and would give Fitz a reason for his character to grow and become interesting.

I also think Either Fitz or Simmons should die, as they're just too calculatedly cute, and redundant as characters. But I didn't figure they'd have the guts to do it, and was correct.

The second she jumped from the plane, my friend gasped, totally buying it. I said "Wait, I bet you 5 bucks Ward runs in, grabs a parachute and dives after her." Made 5 bucks.

Also, as that scene played out, another friend asks - "Why didn't he just use the flying car he ran right past...?"

Good question.

Next week's ep - a Thor 2 tie-in (with no cameos) directed by Jonathan Frakes.

I really was thinking the ending was going to be different.

I like this show, but it really hasn't really grabbed me yet.

and he says "You told us not to touch her."

I am rethinking my opionion that Coulson is an LMD, you'd figure that would show up in a physical.

That's good. It still doesn't feel like a Joss show to me. The first episode did, but some of the characters are far too generic right now. I'm hoping in time they'll develop.

The main 'forehead' guy is too much like David boreanaz that it's distracting me.
The pilot woman is just too wooden. I don't get that kind of character.
The tech guys need work. These kinds of characters are all over TV shows presently and they're annoying; they spout babble and then flick a switch and everything is OK. Very Annoying when TV does this.
Skye is OK. I like that she has something 'else' going on but still she could easily just be eye candy, which I hope they move away from.

Coulson is the stand out character. Always interesting when he's on screen.

I'm finding the plots so so for the most part but again as with Buffy it needed some time before it was really outstanding so I hold out hope.

Fitz as a field agent ... pretty weak episode. All around, too, I hate to say. Skye's nagging Coulson about her parents, as 2 members of her team are in peril, that there'd be NO extraction for such a mission like this... and oh yeah, nothing happens to Simmons as she tries to hack a secure panel in a section she's not suppose to be in, and then... well, it seems a bit too much for my likes.

Word is the show will be undergoing a serious re-tooling either at mid-season, or for season 2 at the very latest. Ratings have continued to drop every single episode, rather than leveling off as they had hoped.

It needs it. The throw away missions are getting really old. This last episode killed all the moment they were getting from some of the stronger episodes leading into it. Even the moments that were supposed to be emotional fell flat to me.

Networks are looking more at DVR numbers these days, with "Live + Same Day" that interests them more, with "Live + 3" also considered. From what I've read it "Live + 7" is ignored. So if you're gonna watch it delayed, make that delay as short a time as possible.

I've seen all the episodes, not because I am totally captivated by it, but because I feel they should be given the benefit of the doubt and I want to at least see how they end this first season. It's a vast universe they're working in, and they've been hampered by not being able to include the major players from the movies. The first Thor tie-in episode was weak, but the last one that featured Sif was pretty good.

Three things they need to do before the season ends: explain why Skye is an 0-8-4, bring back Mike Peterson as Deathlok, and reveal the identity of The Clairvoyant (my guess is it's Victoria Hand).

I think the show has been getting better. I still really wish they'd work on finding ways to make the audience relate with the main characters. They just don't seem like people yet. Give them families, friends, goals, and dreams. You know...people stuff. Right now we have tough guy, tough girl, smart guy, smart girl, bratty girl, revived leader guy. Gotta do better than that.

Well they did get a second season. There is also with the internet a chance to catch an audience they would not have caught just a few years back. That is how they got me.

Serenity can only be achieved in the wilderness.
