JOURNEY

Since nobody has posted this yet, I guess it falls to me. http://muchadothemovie.com/

I am curious about reactions, and not just to the drool-worthy cast list. It's in black and white, but the poster makes it look like the setting is modern. Hmm...I will want to watch it because it's a Shakespeare comedy, because it's got the Captain, and because Whedon did it. But I'm not quite sure what to expect.

Okay, I'm not sure if this is a joke Whedon's playing on us, but either way I'm amused. Also, intrigued. Joss would do a good job methinks. Lots of prior practice.

If this is real, and it turns out Nathan's playing Benedick, might I recommend Morena to play Beatrice?

*giggle fit collapse*

Anyway. No, still not done. Laughing out loud now.

With manic glee do I proclaim this awesome.

I followed the link in TWO's post- it looks legit.

Looks like Joss striking in the Dr. Horrible bag again- they're calling it a " micro-studio" production, shot in 12 days.

Joss would be good at this-- the play being a mix of humor and serious drama, and only squeaking in as a comedy because some folks wind up getting married at the end.

Wanna , wanna see this!!!

That's fun that it has the actors who play Mal and Simon in it. Just like the first episode of V was fun because it had the actors who play Inara and Wash in it.

Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayl!

I saw it on facebook yesterday, and Nathan and Sean tweeted about it. It sounds awesome! I do like a good Shakespeare play or adaptation (Ok, now I feel judged hahaha) and Joss Whedon producing one? Ultimate Shakespeare! Yay! Hahaha might even find it's way into the Australian school curriculum- I mean, we watched Baz Lurhmann's adaptation of Romeo & Juliet, so why not Joss? His work runs rings around Baz!

Bravo. We all know Joss likes mood whiplash.

If Fran Kanz is playing Claudio, he'll be the very first Claudio I'll feel even slightly sympathetic towards.

Still trying to get my brain around Acker as Beatrice...but...

Sean Maher as Don John. I am rolling on the floor, unable to stop laughing.

Yeah! I can completely see Sean Maher doing a good Don John...that alone is reason to see it. And am really excited to see Nathan Fillion take a turn at Dogberry.

I agree about Amy Acker as Beatrice. I was expecting Hero for her. She was in the last season of Alias as a bad guy and I had the hardest time believing she was anything but sweet and cute. Beatrice isn't bad, but she does have a good level of snark that does not go with sweet and cute. With Denisof as Benedict, I think it is possible, having seen them together in Angel.

I thought I read somewhere that reading Shakespeare plays was a common happening at either Fillion's or Whedon's house parties. If so, I am glad to see its finally been put on film, but I am just so confused as to what to expect.

Bytemite, I am in agreement, it feels almost like Joss & Co. pulling a prank...

I am cautiously optimistic.

Here's a rather rambly but good interview with Whedon on Much Ado. I am still confused on whether or not he kept the Shakespeare language or is using modern language or somewhere in between.
