Apparently someone thinks Joss ripped off his book to make Cabin in the Woods. Kinda ridiculous IMO considering the movie was playing off of horror movie tropes. Which means it will very likely have a lot of similarities to other horror movies. The only real claim I see is that both movies

I especially like the claim in the court document that in both works the characters take a vehicle to a cabin in the woods. omg really? Clearly plagiarism!

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I'd have to read the book to be sure of the similarities, but I checked around and the lowest price I could find is almost $60. I did read the full complaint, and he may have a case, but many of the specifics could also apply to any number of other horror films.

I agree that part of it seems like he could have a case, but all the claims are very vague. I'd really like to read the book to see just how similar things really are. I have a feeling it's only surface similarities.
