GALENFLY

I went on a shopping expedition for some holiday presents, and like any good browncoat Firefly was on my list. Since I was in two of the larger chain electronics stores (Circuit City and Best Buy) I decided to see I could save some shipping and get them locally. Unfortunately I could not find Firefly in Circuit City, not too surprising since the holiday rush had ended up mixing all the movies around so I may have missed it. What really dumfounded was not seeing it in Best Buy. They have a huge section of TV series box sets, stuff I never heard of from the 50’s. Not only was my beloved Firefly missing, but there was no area where it would have been located at. It was not sold out, not in a special section, not in a bestseller area, it was not even being sold. I went to one of the computers and decided to look it up and was astonished to see Firefly being listed at $45. So I pose two questions with this thread.

Where is the cheapest place to find the Firefly DVD box set? (I want to get the most brown for my buck) Same thing for the Serenity DVD.

What are you doing too keep the Firefly DVD on shelves? (Also anyone who has tips on how this can be done in more then welcome to add their 2 credits)

On a side note: if you do see the Firefly DVD and soon to be coming Serenity DVD in a store display that doesn’t have specific locations for movies (no price tags on the rack), place Serenity and Firefly in front of, and in the most visible locations on the rack. Serenity should not be next to the floor but along the entire top shelf. Just doing my browncoat part.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

The last time I was at Best Buy here they had about twenty Firefly sets on the shelf, and they were in a special section devoted only to FOX titles. The price was the same as it has always been at BB, $40.99.

But amazon.com has it for less than $30, and that qualifies for free shipping, although at this time of the year that might not get it to you by Christmas. Still, using Haken's link to amazon from the homepage will benefit this site and I'm sure he would appreciate that.
