While possibly not intentional, fans who saw synidcated entertainment magazine show Access Hollywood's interview with FOX Network President, Gail Berman, about the upcoming Fall lineup reported that Firefly was not mentioned at all during the segment. However, non-genre series such as Fastlane and Grubs were highlighted as shows to keep an eye out for.

It seems Firefly has been snubbed once again.

By the way, that Access Hollywood interview was supposedly aired today. Depending on the time zone you're in and the air time, you might still be able to catch it.

That really P*$$ess me off!!!

It go to show you that fox does not hold out much hope for sci-fi on friday night,or that they don't hold out much hope for firefly,I saw it(the promo on access hollywood) an found out they just might as well "said" it's in prosess of being cancelled after thirteen episodes!
On the good news is that Sci-fi channel is showing promos, who knows we may have a back up in progress if "Fox"dumps the show ,lets hope sci-fi get the call!!!

This seems odd. Gail Berman has a personal stake in Firefly, being a producer and all. She also has a personal relationship with Joss Whedon, having worked on every season of Buffy since its inception.

As for the Sci-Fi Channel promos, I believe that if Firefly does even remotely well on FOX, it will be shipped on over to Scifi as a repurposing deal. This could ensure that we see all 13 episodes even if the show is cancelled.

Though, I still believe that Firefly will do well. There may be some odds stacked against it, but I feel like it will succeed.

This is very true. I've heard that without her involvement, there never would have been a Buffy TV series.

I have to wonder how much of the Firefly crisis news is real, and how much is inept journalists floundering about for copy.

Sci-Fi Channel has made a offer as well as parent network "USA network" to reair first run show of "Firefly"(just like Law and order criminail intent)with in a week of it's airing on "Fox",witch is Great for the posibblity of getting more then the thirteen show promised by fox network,Also it go to think that if "Fox "dumps the show Sci-fi will pick it up and continue the good fight(Heres hopeing ) for quility show for the "people" who love Both JOSS & SCI-FI programs.

I hope it does well because Joss does a Great Job on "new projects when his heart is in it , and it look like his is in this one Big Time!(AND ARE'T WE LUCKY FOR THAT )

FURYFIRE

Why would Gail snub it? She gets paid to executive produce it, we all know that hollywood insiders never turn down the cahance for more money.

Hey, Family Guy had extremly low viewership but was given a third season because FOX execs LIKED it. Not always viewers, ezine mags shows, promos, etc that keeps a show alive, sometimes the fans petition like what save Star Trek, so MAYBE WE CAN SAVE FIREFLY.

If you know anyone that can help my screenwriting career, please help! And yes, I am self-advertising here. Hehehe, me such a little devil.

Although Firefly has a substantially higher budget than all of the series on FOX this Fall, it is my impression that FOX is making a real effort to promote Fastlane as their flagship series--not Firefly.

Do you all think this as well?

24, BERNIE MAC, FASTLANE, FIREFLY, JOHN DOE, are all potential break-outs hence the heavy ad campaigns. I don't think they're really sure what show will step up.

MILLERNATE

Well 24 is getting the attention because its been nominated for several Emmys *and* has a semi-big star in Kiefer Sutherland. As for Fastlane? Never underestimate the appeal of a blatantly stupid show to the mass audience (I do believe that was the most cynical thing I've ever said ).

"It looks like a great adventure...That's what it is; that's what it feels like. When I saw the pilot, it was really engaging. It was exciting. It was unusual. It threw me off every now and then. I think people will be grabbed by it." - Ron Glass, on the pilot, during an interview with the Indianapolis Star
