Quote:Originally posted by Moose: Theatrical opening credits, with lyrics Not in HD, unfortunately. The show got the bluray treatment a few years ago. Loved the show when I was a kid, I’m pretty sure I started puberty a few years early because of Erin Gray and Pamela Hensley. Yeah, that period did seem to be a dark time for TV SciFi. Only other show I can immediately think of without Googling is Battlestar Galactica and that was only 1 season. (We don’t talk about Galactica 1980, right?)

Think of all of the violence and other bullshit that can be crammed into a movie that is rated for kids to see today, but flash a nipple and "Mothers Against Anything Fun" lose their freakin' minds. Do Right, Be Right. :)

OMG, I don't think that was played more than once, or if it ever made it to air. I don't remember any of that, and as a teenager, that opening was clearly made for me ! I just remember the shorter version, w/ the time tunnel effect and the more ' Loveboat ' style of showing the cast of characters. Man, Erin Gray was smoke. Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen I'm just a red pill guy in a room full of blue pill addicts. The original opening was for the theatrical version of the pilot, which was released in theatres months before the series premiered.

Seems a bit weird, but then, the 70's were weird AF. And I can certainly see the James Bond type of vibe they were going for, though those girls were usually silhouettes, as I recall, and not the actual characters from the show. Imagine the women of Firefly posing like that, in the opening credits... Quote:Originally posted by Moose: I got the Season 1 Blurays as a present. I watched the first disc of episodes yesterday, and I just have to say that they did a wonderful job remastering it. I’m thinking they wouldn’t have gotten away with some of the outfits if there was HD back then. Wowza. I’m not sure if I’ll get season 2 because I really hated the direction it took the show.
