Quote:The story of B5 was always those 5 years, so anything before or after was always, at best, earmarked for side projects.

Quote:Why? Garibaldi getting his revenge would have been the old Mike - besides, he ended up in a position whereby he could watch over Bester and tweak at him if he ever tried anything, without sinking to violence. The arc that Garibaldi travelled to me is the one that least changed through the telling.

Quote:You misunderstand - that story was outside the 5 year arc, and JMS wasn't going to shove in a cosy resolution to every tale so that the B5 universe was 5 years of events and then vacuum outside of that.

Quote:Originally posted by evilmike: I don't see how there is a misunderstanding. JMS didn't have to limit the 5th season to covering one year. (And, as a point of fact, he didn't since the finale was 20 years later.) And he didn't have to resolve everything within the last season (nor did I ever say he did.) But he should have given us more in Season 5 to make it seem something other than the afterthought that it ended up being. The resolution to the Garibaldi-Bester story is probably the most obvious thing that could have been included.

Quote:Originally posted by FahQ: Its not that at all. Look up the JMS Archives and you will see in his Usenet posts that originally the shadow war and liberation of Earth was to have stretched into season 5. Both arcs were wrapped up by the end of season 4 because at the time it was still unknown regarding a 5th season and JMS wanted some closure. They also filmed "Sleeping in Light" at the end of season 4 just in case renewal didnt happen.

Quote:I'm still holding on to about 75% of the stuff, but the other 25% has got to go. So starting sometime probably next week, the week of the 11th, and from time to time over the next month or so, keep an eye on Ebay. (I'm playing with the idea of doing this chronologically, from the earliest stuff to the latter stuff, but I don't know if I'm disciplined enough for that.) I likely won't put this stuff up every day, only when and as I think of it. So you may have days pass with nothing, then a day when four or five items go up. The Ebay user ID is babylon5auctions. Once I've cleared out enough room to actually see the floor again, the auctions will stop and that user ID will go away. Let the games begin.
