I really like this film. Sadly, it's been a long while since I've seen it so I can't pick out any scene or line that I particularly liked.

Mal- Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. Besides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. There's a whole airflow.
Inara: And you'd know that because...?
Mal: You can't open the book of my life and jump in the middle. Like woman, I'm a mystery.

The hero has a cool native american friend who he met on his travels to America, who just happens to be an accomplished martial artist :) So you get some very well choreagraphed fight scenes. The scene in the rain near the beginning is particuarly good. Great use of Slo-Mo cam. The stock of the film is one of the best I've seen. I'm sure it is HD.

Its a great movie, wouldnt call it a werewolf movie though. The first part of the film is based on real life, the second half is entirely fictional however.

That was the greatest french revolution/native american/martial arts action/papal conspiracy/horror movies of all time.

I saw it when it came out and rented it again a few months ago. The script keeps you guessing up until the end. I'll probably have to add it to my collection soon.

Vict that is very true. I never looked at it like that. I guess it's always thought of as a Werewolf movie as there is a big wolf in it LOL. TO be honest I think it is more based on the Sherlock Holmes story 'Hound of the Baskervilles'

It actually is a old french myth. If youve got the DvD then watch the extra materials, got some documenteries where they talk about the book the movie is based on and the historical facts that the book is based on.

Thanks Vint :) I certainly will look at the extras. I am the person who usually watches every single extra on a DVD but Brotherhood of the Wolf I haven't done that. Alot of the time I find the extras, like documentries and actor comments more interesting than the film. LOL

BIGDAMNNOBODY

Just wanted to offer a disenting opinion. I thought it was 3 plus hours of French self-indulgence. The first part of the film did a good job of introducing the characters and building up the level of suspense. The film seemed to fall off the tracks after that. Some good fight scenes, but too few and far between if that is your thing. Seems like they couldn't decide how to end the film so they threw in some cheesy twists at the end. Remember leaving the theatre thinking that if I had wanted to read for 3 plus hours, I should have stayed home with a good book. Did not feel this way after Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, though it had much less dialog.

De-lurking to stir stuff up.

However you could say that about crouching tiger that it is just chinese self indulgence. Which is a better film? Enter the Dragon or Crouching Tiger? My answer would always be Enter the Dragon. Dragon does not have all the bells and whistles, hwever it is just better. I feel Crouching Tiger is just Chinese self indulgence Brotherhood of the wolf is a good French film. We do not see french films very often, however what films they produce are usuelly pretty good, ie. 'Cyrano de Bergerac' awesome film. I'll rate Brotherhood as not just a French film but as an all round good film :)
