In a funny nod to 'Trash', Adam's character, John Casey, asks of the super geek turned terrorist.... " can he hurt me with his mind ? "

"Hillary tried to get a million dollars for the Woodstock museum. I understand it was a major cultural and pharmaceutical event. I couldn't attend. I was tied up at the time." - John McCain

" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

Do you think Adam would rather get sucked out an air lock after leaving atmosphere or listen to four hours about what sandwich you would bring to a deserted island?

I want feed back.

This one of those glass half full questions.

Huh, I didn't get that at all. THe FIREFLY reference I got was when Morgan went into work all cleaned up and looking a Hell of a lot like Simon with the combed hair and vest. Don't tell me no one noticed that.

Yeah, I thought the Morgan/Simon thing, too. Plus, I almost shot water out my nose at the River almost-quote. I don't know why, but I was just expecting something like that tonight.

Regarding how Adam/Jayne/Casey would prefer to die - I'd say by airlock. Death by sandwich discussion would take at least 4 hours. Airlock would be much quicker! And maybe for Jayne/Casey, survivable.

I'd rather be a smartass than a dumbass...

River: Also,....I can kill you with my brain

John Casey: Can he hurt me with his mind ?

Had Morgan done away w/ the beard, I'd have seen the Simon comparison much more.

I think death by airlock would be most preferable.

i actually thought he was semi quoting Jayne. In OiS when he says, "what she killed him math?" but I can see all the assumed references. As much as I love the sandwich discussion, I think Casey would much prefer the airlock.

Oh, yeah! As soon as Casey said that, I turned to the two friends who I was sitting with (both browncoats) and I said, "Did he just give a nod to 'Firefly'?" Hehe!

Oh, yeah, I tuned in just in time to see that and saw it as a huge Firefly shout out. AB loves his fans.

Airlock / sandwich: Airlock every time.

I loved his face at the end as they start up the sandwich discussion again. And he looked good in the robe too. Shamrock boxers and a silky robe, hmmm. Casey has a softer side.

Oh, yeah! My friends and I laughed at his kimono robe too. He actually reminded me of ToshirĂ´ Mifune. (He's the Japanese version of Clint Eastwood before Eastwood was big. Actually, Eastwood's A Fistful of Dollars was a Spaghetti Western remake of Mifune's samurai film Yojimbo. Both good flicks, check 'em out if you can!)

And airlock vs. sandwiches... airlock! I've always wanted to experience a five-mile free fall (preferably with a fault-free parachute).

Didn't the whole episode have a River Tam Vibe going on last night, at least with the whole brilliant kid sent to "gifted school" story, all a government cover story?

Maybe it was just me, many Riveresque overtones last night on Chuck

"And I think calling him that is an insult to the psychotic lowlife community."

I was up and about during the show, so I didn't catcht the finer points, but you bring up a good point. "River" didn't kill anyone, she just did what her handlers programmed her to do. Much like w/ the geek in the show.

I never got that reference until I went to TWOP and they were discussing it. I see now it may have been a nod to FF, considering it was a geek haven's episode. I mean they covered Jedi (Leiah's slave girl outfit) Dune (sand worm) Bond, even to a small degree Batman with the female Nerd Herder dressed as a cat, so maybe it was a shoutout to FF. And Griz is right, it's the writers who write the show, not the actors.

Most of what they talked about on TWOP was the ending, that was a near perfect shot of an episode of the OC. If anyone watched it you might have noticed. I certainly didn't, that whole slow mo scene just had too much Ho-Yay going on. Not big on the Ho-Yay.

And no, have to say I don't see the smiliarities between Morgan's outfit and Simon. I don't think they were making that much of a nod. Same with the storyline of a genius. If anything they were showing what Chuck's life could have been like if he had just a little bit more genius in him. The episode was more of Chuck's opposite. Someone like him who had a different evolution in the Company. Made for Chuck really thinking about what this new life of his is about.

And hell, I'm proud of the guy. Not only did he (some may think cruelly, I say it's about time) put Morgon in his place by having him grow, if only a little, he stood up to Casey. He THREATENED to kill Casey if he bugs (wiretaps) his sister. I'm happy to see Chuck starting to grow some (hair). Now if only he'll stand up to that idiot Harry (Tiberius) Tang. That man needs to be taken down a peg, especially now that he's Chuck's boss.

What would have made the episode complete was for Casey to show up dressed as Jayne, Chuck asking him what he was dressed as, and Casey casually remarking "I don't know, saw it on a show once.

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, one last thing. Don't know if anyone realizes, but the man conducting the interview was The Tick's sidekick from the live action show.

Who says that the writers aren't fans of Firefly? As a matter of fact, Casey was written with Adam in mind b/c of his work on Serenity.

I immediately thought of River's line as well. The Simon/Morgan connection never crossed my mind.

Regarding the rest of the episode --- it absolutely stunk. It was stupid, trite, and overly caricaturist. I'd been lukewarm about the show so far. It seemed to me the episodes alternated between worth watching again and not. Well, last Monday's may have ended it for me.

Arrghh!! I missed it! I had it on, but was toying around w/ my new XB360 , and playing Halo3, of course. I caught some quotes in the game by Adam and Nathan, including Nathan's use of 'gorram'.

Which reminds me...why wasn't Julie Benz in Halo3 ? She was the voice of Miranda Keys in Halo2, why not do a follow up??

(self follow up - From tv guide, Dec 15,06 )

TVGuide.com: Are you all done with your voice work for the Halo 3 video game?
Benz: You know what? I am actually not a part of Halo 3. I was informed a couple of weeks ago that they are actually changing the voice of Captain Miranda Keyes, and giving her an accent.

TVGuide.com: Are you serious?! What kind of an accent?
Benz: I have no idea. [Laughs] They didn't even entertain the idea of having me do it, so... I was very sad. I was very sad. I had such a great time doing Halo 2.

Now I am learning about scary.

I'm amazed that nobody mentioned the whole "boy in the box" scene when they discovered Bryce alive. I jumped right out of my seat when they opened the box and I saw there was a person in there. Did anyone else feel that same way or was it just me?

Me too.

And did anyone notice the way Casey was polishing the 1985 Crown Victoria Police Special and how he talked about all his special add ons? I was expecting to hear that he called it Vera.

And during the previews for the return of Chuck did anyone get a feeling that Ariel was about to be seen again?

Must be Browncoats on the writing staff.
