My favourite Stallone flick is Death Race 2000.

Just kidding.

The man is remarkable...he single-handedly resurrects Rocky AND Rambo, AND THEY'RE BOTH GOOD!!!

And can anyone forget Demolition Man?

And even Oscar was pretty good. Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot...er, not so much.

Any fans hereabouts?

You mean the Grace Jones song? Or the one by The Police? (You're the one who brought up dancing in the eighties) I am completely unaware of any other Demolition Man.

Ah, Rocky. This movie remains consistently awesome. Never gets old. Although someone out there has no love for his statue in Philly.

Please don't ask this of me.

I sat through Judge Dredd, Oscar, and Rhinestone and fell asleep watching Tango & Cash and Victory. Haven't I done enough already?

What? No "Over The Top" or "Cobra"?
Yeah, he's made come stinkers..okay, a lot of stinkers, but Demolition Man ain't one of 'em! Seriously, it's cool.

That's a fact! Even if someone didn't like Stallone the performances by the other players warrants a viewing. The highlight for me is Wesley Snipes as the wonderfully maniacal Simon Phoenix. Denis Leary, Sandra Bullock, Benjamin Bratt, and Rob Schneider do outstanding as the comic relief.

I don't recall Tango & Cash as being bad.
Liked Demolition Man, First Blood, Rocky, Assasins, Copland, Specialist, Cliffhanger, Lords of Flatbush. Never saw his porn work.
Also liked his role as Terminator in Last Action Hero.

Fun trivia: Ahnold and Sly had a competitive "feud" during the 80's. Scriptwriter Stallone had "President Arnold Schwartznegger Memorial Library" put into Demolition Man, and at the same time Ahnold was in Last Action Hero, where he had all Ahnold roles played by Sly (in the video store, Stallone was Termintor, Predator, etc.) and thus the "feud" was reconciled.

Without Stallone and Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider might have a lot less work.

Rocky and First Blood are classics and cannot be touched, especially Rocky. What better story is there of a nobody taking a chance and becoming somebody. It's inspirational.

I remember the supporting cast of Demolition Man being better than Sly himself. Dennis Leary is always good to watch. Snipes was good in the role and Sandra looked mighty purdy as usual.

Copland is a great film. Wish he'd done more of this type of work earlier.
Judge Dredd was a travesty.
Tango And Cash was alright for an 80's movie.
Escape To Victory seems to get a bad name for itself but it isn't too bad if you consider that half of them are footie players not actors.
Is Over The Top the arm wrestling one? With the big truck as prize? Not bad if it is. But not great either.
Death Race 2000 is low budget crap but with an excellent idea. I hear there's a remake planned.

No love for Cliffhanger? It's only purpose was fodder for Ace Ventura?

Maybe this should shift to Hot Babes of Stallone fliks?
I'll start with Janine Turner, Talia Shire, Estella Warren, Rachel Leigh Cook, Diane lane, Teri Hatcher, Susan Blakely (twice).

I'm down with that.

Rachael Leigh Cook: A cutie. Why did she never make it big?
Janine Turner: Northern Exposure was great, all the more so for her being in it.
Sandra Bullock: The ultimate girl next door?
Diane Lane: Hot Hot HOT! Oozes sex appeal.
Julie Benz: With Darla who knew evil could be so sexy.

Don't forget Nighthawks! I loved Nighthawks. Stallone stared in it, as a Cop along with Billy Dee Williams, going after Rutger Hauer, who played a great eighties villain.

Plus Rocky 1-4, Balboa, First Blood, and Cliff Hanger were all good.

But man he could make some stinkers, too!

Nope, no love for Cliffhanger at all! Having been a rock climber back in the day, I got all twitchy in the climbing scenes. And that harness just coming undone? Give me a break. Then there is the moment where the baddie holds a woman's head and shoots her with a Dessert Eagle and not one spot of blood. In real life, if had had used an FMJ he'd have shot himself in the abdomen and if it was a JHP, her head would have burst like a pumpkin ruining the closeup.

Yeah, that was hokey- like Rambo 2 & 3 hokey. Not so hokey as Cobra though, that one takes the D'oh Award. Not Sly's fault however, that leggy bitch that played Red Sonia was messin' with his head....

Well I haven't see Rambo so I can't say yet. I'll wait till my bro' gets the DVD (he has the others so I know he'll get the latest) and then watch it.

Cliffhanger did have John Lithgow as well who always made a good bad guy and could ham up the screen as could as anyone.

Oh, the cast was terrific, it's just director Renny Harlin set out to make a fairly realistic action movie & ended up making a cartoon.
