Did you hear it? Huh, huh? Didja, didja?

Not to spoil it for anyone, so if you don't want to read it, don't.

Casey looks at Chuck, then at Sarah and says "He's damaging my calm!"

Like the Uber geek I am, I looked at my husband and said, "DID YOU HEAR THAT?" Of course, he was oblivious and I hit rewind. And then I jumped up and down in my seat saying, "that's a Jayne thing, it's a Jayne thing."

Oh, how I love Adam Baldwin.

Yep. ^^
That whole episode was Jayne-esque.

This isn't the first time he's used the line (or a variation thereof) about damaging his calm.

I think it's cool that they based an episode around it!

America loves a winner!

Caught it and posted it in the other Chuck thread. It's weird, he actually said something close to that, in a previous episode, but then came right out w/ the line, word for word.

That's not the first time "Firefly" references have popped up on "Chuck". Last season, Team Chuck was being debriefed on the next mission to find a super-smart, government employee who ran away and started building a life of his own. (Sound familiar?) When told of the guy's dangerous intelligence, Casey replies, "What? Can he mess with our minds?" Or, something close to that. It's been nearly a year since I saw that eppy, but I clearly remember my friends and I--who are all browncoats--all gasped at his reference to River.

I know, I was so excited! He has ALMOST said it a couple of times and then he finally actually said it and I started to screech, and everybody shushed me.

I cannot love that show any more than I do already.

You need to listen more carefully. Nearly every episode has a Firefly reference somewhere.

Now I am learning about scary.

Yes, yes, yes! I yelled, "It's a Firefly reference!" Then I said, "I can't wait to check fireflyfans tomorrow!"

What a great show.

Ah the joy... Chuck is a great show on it's own, but the Firely references make it all the shiny-er

I'm happy for Adam. The first season it looked like he was not going to be very prominent. But he is a major player. This last episode was purely his. These three make a great team. I see a long life for "Chuck". Of course that means Adam may never be free to do a "Serenity" sequal, but it is great to see our Firefly actors get work. Hope to see the others find a series or films for themselves.

oh don't worry traveler... there are down times for all tv filming to allow the actors to do film... he'll have plenty of time open if Serentiy 2 comes through

I hope you are right. Now that their faces are becoming more familiar with a wider audience, Serenity 2 could draw more attendance. People will say, "I saw that guy on Chuck and that young woman on Terminator."

Just watched it off the DVR - and have avoided any "Chuck" threads to keep spoilers at bay.

Caught it, smiled at my wife, and said "That was a FIREFLY line!"

As if I didn't have enough reasons already to love Chuck (Yvonne Strahovski, for one!).

Can anyone tell me approx when he says this? I watched the whole show last night and heard a lot of talk about finding his calm but I didn't catch this line. Thanks!

It's at the 37 minute mark (without adverts), when Chuck is giving his pep talk to Casey at the end. I love the number of annoyed grunts that Adam made throughout the episode - who here wouldn't jump back a step on hearing one of them pointed in their direction?
