Hmmm. My list probably hasn't changed all that much.

1. The Dark Knight
2. X-Men 2
3. Batman Begins
4. Spider-Man 2
5. Iron Man

I imagine Iron Man will fall off the list. Downey Jr. is the only thing that keeps it from being a strictly by-the-numbers affair.

I don't remember that film?

I also can't remember what I originally posted so this may completely differ but:

(For the purposes of this list I will allow Batman to be considered a superhero rather than just a crime fighter).

Faves:
The Dark Knight
Superman
Batman Begins
Spider-Man
Superman 2 (The Donner Cut)
Iron Man
Incredible Hulk
X-Men 1+2

Objectively:
Superman (a man flew for goodness sake)
Batman Begins/The Dark Knight
Iron Man
Spider-Man
X-Men 1+2
Superman 2 (The Donner Cut)
Incredible Hulk

Honourable Mention:
Jay + Silent Bob Strike Back for Bluntman And Chronic.

The only reason I didn't include that somewhere is that someone pointed out to me that it's really a 'Fan-cut', and not so much a movie that stands without accepting that it's as good as they could make it with what was available to them... Personally, if they had just left in the Arctic Police scene from the deleted scenes, and left out the whole time thing, makin' like Supes left Lois knowing who he was, I'd rate it nearly as good as the first (I 'edit' it that way for myself each time I slap it in, heh heh).

You might want to track down the "Hybrid Cut" then. It is a fan-edit, cutting together the two "official" versions of the film. The most solid version of Superman II as far as I'm concerned.

THESOMNAMBULIST

Ok writing this as an: insomniac somnambulist

No particular order and baring in mind this is a genre I struggle with the most - after musicals...

Flash Gordon (The black and white, Larry 'Buster' Crab serials)
The Rocketeer (I just love the atmosphere in this film and it has a beautiful score)
The Shadow (Never would have thought Alec Baldwin watchable)
Batman Returns (Michelle Pfieffer, Danny Devito and Danny Elfman's music)
Superman II (The late great Christopher Reeve out numbered by his own kind - How will the man of steel prevail?.... Brains!)

I suppose I've based this on repeat viewing. I would conceed that the latest Batman (Batman-Dark Knight) is arguably the better film, but it's so accomplished I feel little need to re-watch it. Except maybe the wonderful scene with the Joker blowing up the hospital with such comic glee dressed as a nurse! Classic!

I saw this on the fanedit site and thought about downloading it. I think I will now that you say you like it.
Cheers mate.

If you guys like the Hybrid cut, you might also want to check out Superman: Redeemed. It's another fan-edit from the same editor, in which he essentially creates a new Superman film useing the "A" plot from Superman 4, the "B" plot from Superman 3, and the Paris sequence from Superman 2 (which is absent from the Donner and Hybrid cuts).

It's not great by any means, as it's a bit slow and meandering. But it's far better than Superman 3 or 4 were on their own, and is interesting to watch as an experiment in editing.
