WAKEUPSOON

... is officially in the running for the new Doctor Who!

According to The Independent The Odds are:

Paterson Joseph: 4/6
Chiwetal Ejiofor: 6/1
James Nesbitt: 10/1
Catherine Tate: 25/1

My vote goes to Chiwetal!!

STAPLES

Has anyone seen the David Mamet film "Redbelt?"

He stars in it - it is INCREDIBLE. Definitely check it out if you haven't seen it.

Chiwe could definitely pull it off.
And the first non-white Doctor as well.
I hope they ask and I hope he says yes.

I'm interested to see how the Xmas special plays out, David Morrisey could make a good Doctor from what I've seen before, but my early opinion is that he's a Doctor from an alternate universe. After all the Cybermen originated in one and they are back, it would certainly explain why he has a TARDIS. Even more so if he doesn't know our Doctor. If he was a future regeneration then he would definitely recognize himself. Plus look at the way they handled his daughter, another Doctor, and his 'death'. Seems to fit with the way they work.

James Nesbitt could work well, bit grouchy maybe but it could work, be something different.

Don't know Paterson Joseph without looking him up.

I can't believe people even put Catherine Tate in the running. She's had her moment as a companion and whilst that was brilliant, that's it. There's no way they would actually pick her, they'd go for someone else.

On another point with Tennant leaving will this mean Alex Kingston will be back in one of the specials to see her story played out that was mentioned in the killer shadows episodes.
Surely they have to before the current Doc regenerates, otherwise it would be a major continuity error.
Any thoughts?

Not necessarily; I'm sure it's possible for those who've met the Doctor to recognize him across regenerations. Especially when one knows him as well as she appeared to.

We applied the cortical electrodes but were unable to get a neural reaction from either patient.

True, Capt Jack recognized him, but the impression I got was that it was THAT particular Doctor. She made some comment about him being younger, not different.
And Sarah Jane knew the Doctor very well and she didn't recognize him, although she obviously thought there was something about him when they met at the school.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think his name looks like someone typing with their fingers off the home keys?

He would have been an awesome Doctor.... And he'd suit Moffat's writing, if he was anything like in the movie Serenity.
