What a doozy! I think most people probably thought there was more to Strickler than he was leading on, but I've NEVER seen Micheal react that way. Of course, he had good reason.

I won't mention specifics 'cause I don't wanna spoil it for anyone, but the writers are, once again, leaving us with a whopper of a cliffhanger.

I gotta wait for winter now? Seriously?

I DVRed it - hope to get to see it over the weekend (thanks for the spoiler-free post!).

I've only seen like 3 eps of this show, guided by CIA's recommendation (thank you, CIA - good tip). I need to make some time to catch up on all 3 (it is 3?) seasons, 'cause come to find out it's a fun little show.

A minor bonus is Sharon Gless. She used to be in a little show back in the mid-70s called Switch, with Robert Wagner and Eddie Albert. I had a little crush on her character, Maggie. The crush had pretty much subsided by her Cagney & Lacey years, but is cool to see her having what looks like a fun gig on Burn.

And Bruce Campbell? Don't get me started! Anybody know if Sam has ever delivered any kind of shout-out to Evil Dead, like calling someone a "medieval screwhead" or something like that?

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad Strickler's dead. BWAHAHAHAHA! I was ecstatic when Mike finally shot him XD been waitin for that all season.

awesome finale, though I don't know why they keep showing half the season then taking a break. wtf? they did the same thing with season 2.

And yeah, RIP, I've *never* seen Michael react like that about an enemy. Also never seen him do what he did in above spoiler, though I was hoping he'd finally surprise us by breaking out of his cool like that.

Not really a lot of Evil Dead referencing from Bruce, but still it is Bruce and who doesn't want to watch him.. hell if he were reading mustard bottles I'd watch:0

Was an awesome finale... I just thought it was amusing that Strickler had some vague delusion that he in some way could control Michael. I think he didn't understand why Michael was trying to lift the burn notice. Not because he desperately wanted his job, but to protect his friends and family and to clear his name...duh:)

I completely agree with you, MsA. I'd watch Bruce anytime, and I also agree with what you said in the spoiler.

I just love how condifdently he said I'll be the bad guy you're stuck here and there's nothing you can do about it.... seriously you're holding one puny gun on Michael Westin, you didn't check if he's armed, and you have no back-up and you really think you can control this situation...you are officially an idiot

Gee, I'm going to have to respond to spoilers via my own spoiler:

Select to view spoiler:

I was actually yelling at the screen for Michael to shoot Strickler. What a smug jackass!! I saw the gun at Michael's back and was wondering what he was waiting for! I think in that moment you could really see what Fi means to him. I cheered when he did finally shoot the bastard.

I just hope Fi realizes how important she is and honestly I am glad Michael is giving up on this whole getting my job back by any means crap. I'm just worried that based on the teaser for next season he's in for even more of a problem... honestly he really ought to try being less competent at his various skills. that's really the big problem and how he keeps attracting trouble. Did like how Fi's brother handled the news the Michael isn't exactly who he thought... Also Sam really needs to consider driving crappier cars. What with the high destruction rate and all

I loved this part...

Michael [Irish accent]: "He needs to find you. He'll want to talk to anyone who can help him with that, which gives me the in I need to get him and his whole team busted by the police."
Sean: "Right. You can't just walk right up to him. As soon as you open your mouth and he hears you're Irish..."
Michael: "I'll approach him as an American with a deal."
Sean: "Really? Sure you can... pull that off?"
[Michael glances at Fiona and Sam (who smirks)]
Michael [Normal accent]: "I've gone undercover as an American before. I'll be fine."
Sean [skeptical]: "Dunno. Your accent's a bit... dodgy."
[A bit flummoxed, Michael glances around again at Fiona (who's now smirking) and Sam...]

America loves a winner!

Yeah, it was awesome ! Been getting the text from USA on my cell phone, w/ reminders and updates, as well as quizzes on the show.

Sam simply rocks too, btw.

As for the show and how things are progressing, I was glad to see Michael come to his senses re: Fi, but then it had to take her imminent execution for him to wake the hell up. But over all, I'm kinda getting tired of the whole top, top , TOP secret assasin coming after Michael now. I mean, Michael's fairly good at what he does, so he's a cut above a standard, run of the mill spy. He's good at tactics, infiltration, covert ops.... seems he's a very valable asset. So what ever it was that got him burned, could have been to cover someone else's screw up. And I don't see that they'd need to be all that higher up in the spy world. Kinda like in Clancy's Clear and Present Danger, where some low life politician or bureaucrat makes the call that gets valuable assets erased.

I guess my point is, Michael seems fairly high on the food chain, as spies go. Adding more and more layers to this CIA ( or what ever ) ops game starts me thinking of Operatives, Blue hands guys, and the like. I mean, what next ... a super special agent that can walk through walls ?

Oh really ? WHICH ONE???

Burn Notice is officially my very favorite summer show.

As for why they break it up into two "half-seasons", I'm guessing it's because of the way network TV does their seasons. Summer is deadsville, and so is holiday season and mid-winter, so USA figures they'll try to grab a few viewers when nothing else is on, rather than try to go head-to-head with stuff like American Idol and Desperate Housewives and the like.

And it seems to have worked for them, so more power to 'em.

I don't think this actually quantifies as a spoiler, so I won't note it as such . . .

I told my wife several weeks ago that I didn't expect Sam's shiny Buick to last very long. All of his cars have met their untimely demise.

Just one more thought, though. Michael is doing an awful lot of jobs lately for nothing (no pay to speak of). I know he has taken some cash here and there, but it doesn't seem like a lot. After fixing up the car, helping his mom with house stuff, buying multiple cell phones, blackmarket weapons and ammo (supposedly from Fi or that other gun dealer - can't remember his name), ingredients for explosives, etc. . . . .

How on earth does he afford $400 sunglasses (Oliver Peoples Victory) and a $900 watch? Good grief!!

I've been trying to find knock-offs of the Oliver Peoples glasses with no luck so far. Hmph.

ZOW-eee! Man, this show has fast become another ShorDurPerSav (short-duration personal savior) for me, damn near like Firefly when a friend shared that particular Good Word with me. I was doing the Wiki prowl on BN and saw that a couple of tie-in books have been published. Has anybody here read either or both? I'm pretty committed to ordering at least one of them when funds allow, but I wouldn't mind hearing any review/critique anyone cares to offer.

Select to view spoiler:

Agreed - the show lost about 160 pounds of ugly, hubristic fat with the death of Strickler. But it was almost physically painful to see that happen to Sam's Buick.
