It was always only a matter of time before this was announced. Lucas and his cronies will do anything to get another release into the market. We already have numerous DVD releases, next year we get the HD versions and then once all six 3D versions have had their theatre run we'll get them too.

I really don't think I'll bother with any of these, even the OT. Although there are some scenes I can think of that would look really good in 3D. Namely, the fight over both Death Star's and the attack on the Death Star II's core. Some of the Hoth battle would look pretty good as well. Most of it wouldn't make much difference. I guess the pod race from Ep1 as well would look good.

Take out the ridiculous "Anakin pilots a starfighter and takes down a space station when he looks about 10-years-old" sequence. Leave the pod race in, but mute Anakin's reactions and lines, they're pretty cheesy. Leave Jar Jar in, because he's secretly the villain of the entire six movies. :o

It's possible I've just flat out forgotten how bad Jar Jar is, since I haven't watched Phantom Menace since I saw it in the theaters. But the Anakin Mary Sueing in Phantom Menace is what REALLY bothered me, that felt like poor story-telling as opposed to poor/obnoxious characterization and bad dialogue.

Maybe we can mute the romance dialogue with Anakin and Padme in the next two films too. :x Tell that story in subtext, we don't need to see flat characters give even flatter bad romance dialogue.

Finally, in the last movie, take out the dream-vision sequence Anakin has (didn't need anything fancy for Obi-Wan's "A million voices" reaction, and it worked much better), imply Mace Windu's death instead of having him screaming like a bitch, take out the godawful birthing sequence, and remove infamous Anakin staggering frankenstein at the end, just show the Emperor reconstructing him and the life-support suit/armor.

Then I think we're good.

I'll give him an idea: an epic saga about a former recovering stormtrooper... Who is also a werebearwolf.

Behind the scenes of the broader galactic war, there is a terrible hidden struggle between the remaining werebearwolves and the ninja vampire jedi. The conflict can only be resolved by tragic true love across the battle lines.

This then ties into the Battle of Endor and that kinda cheesy Ewok Adventure thing. You'll never look at teddy bears the same way again.
