As you know following the success of Marvel brands like Spider-Man and Ironman the Thunder God Thor may be next in line for a big movie

Thor, a Kirby/Lieber/Stan Lee character based on the Norse myth was an original Avenger alongside names like Ironman, the monstrous Hulk, the Wasp and your patriotic Captain America.
The Thor character kinda faded away in obscurity in the 90s and even died. Marvel thought about bringing him back... as its sales grew back then revived him, a long term artist Coipel had redrawn the hero and tv movie writer JMS (Babylon-5, the Changeling and Jeremiah) started to write a long 3 part comic novel describing his return and bringing his fights and stories back to their classic roots.

The first image of Chris Hemsworth as Thor has been leaked online, Thor will be a seriously big movie directed by Kenneth Branagh. The image is kinda photoshopped and cropped but it gives us a feel how Hemsworth will look as Marvel's god of thunder.
He looks almost exactly like the guy from the trade paper back 3 comicbooks by Coipel and JMS

Also even if you don't care for comic book films one thing you should know is the cast of Thor is kinda huge

Rene Russo, Ray Stevenson, Samuel L. Jackson, Stuart Townsend, Tadanobu Asano, Kat Dennings, Idris Elba, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, maybe even a RDJ cameo...the movie is kinda the who's who of the past few years of Hollywood

The only question left is will Kenneth Branagh's Viking speak with a Shakespearean accent?

STORYMARK

Straczynski is also getting story credit on the movie, and plays the guy who finds the Hammer in the desert.

"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him."
