I'm a little slow, but I was watching Eureka from two weeks ago, Friendly Fire, I believe it is. Nanobots that put out fires got loose due to signal interference... Any ways, Will Wheaton's character says " I call them fireflies, because they are known for their maneuverability." If that isn't a Firefly reference, then I don't know what is.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I kinda thought that way briefly too, but then again they were nanobots, which don't have any direct equivalent in Firefly/Serenity. Could be a shout-out, could be coincidence.
