What's up with the super-human physicallity in Casino Royale? I just saw it lat night, and WOW did it give movies like Daredevil a run for their money!!! Bond could almost keep up with SPIDER-MAN!!!!
Plus; He heals almost as fast as Wolverine!!!!!!! Cuts on his forehead close before he gets back to the card table!

A great movie, don't get me wrong, but as Sam L. Jackson would say; nigga pleeeeeze!

I wouldn't say Bond has Wolvie-like healing powers, Chris. The man had to be sent to a special clinic after getting his family jewels rearranged (certainly one explanation for why he never fathered any kids from all the liaisons he has had/will have

And I gotta give props to both Daniel Craig and the execs. Bond is supposed to be a "blunt instrument" (and an ex-Special Boat Service squaddy, according to the rebooted background posted as part of the Casino Royale movie website) and damn does Bond go balls-out in laying the smackdown on anyone who stands in his way. 'Sides, he gets smoother from here

I didn't think he did anything particularly super-human in Casino Royale. The cuts in his head from the stairwell fight were under his hair - and his hands were still noticbly cut-up when he went back to the game, and in the shower scene directly afterward.

As for the chase, the other guy was Spider-Man-ish, I guess, but he does that stuff in real life, so nothing super-human. And Bond managed to keep up by out-thinking him, and even then he took some pretty bad bumps in the process.

"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him."

Fanwank away, my friend, but Olympic athletes don't jump AND run as much in most of their events. And Bond was still breathing through his NOSE!!!!!
In The World Is Not Enough, Bond hurt his collar bone- and injury that stayed with him to the end of the movie.
In Casino Royale he barely said 'ouch' (except when the family jewels were taking shots), and it looked as if he was on PCP. He chased cars better than the T-1000!!!!

Bond is like a Timex watch: takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. Though, in his case, the slogan should go:

Bond. Takes a licking and keeps on ass-kicking!

Besides, while Bond's buggered shoulder - from falling hundreds of feet from a hot-air balloon to the roof of the Millennium Dome! - does linger in The World is Not Enough, it's once as a bit of final cruelty when the chief henchman thinks Bond is screwed. At no other time after the fall and before that scene in the nuke silo does Bond seem to have any sign of mobility issues. And you can't tell me that when he was seducing Dr. Warmflash to get back on active duty, that it wouldn't friggin' hurt to be making with the whoopee, Chrisisall

I would hold Casino Royale up as being leagues more realistic concerning abilities, injuries and recovery requirements than ANY Brosnan-era Bond flick (much as I admired him in the role).

Hell, if you want implausible, just look at Die Another Day! Bond gets nicked, tortured in a variety of painful ways and presumably starved while in North Korean hands. Yet with only about a day's rest (at most), he is fit enough to incapacitate two civilians, sneak off a naval frigate, swim through Hong Kong Harbour to dry land, walk into a creme de la creme hotel while soaking wet and bluster his way into his "usual" suite. With no noticeable fatigue, pain or mobility issues!

Moore's damage taken was always in the front part of his hair. Whatever the fight Moore Bond would emerge unscathed with a slight tussled look to his hair. Bond is not human.

Yep, when I first heard of the sport Parkour, after watching the trailer for District B13, my first response was, "So, they're applying Jackie Chan's moves to the real world?"
Of course, none of its progenitors ever mention Jackie Chan: They just say they've created a new "mode of transportation".

I saw a really good demonstration video of Parkour a few years ago and collected some great videos. It really is amazing to watch. So, when I heard about District B13 I had to see it. Luckily it was available from Netflix. It was pretty fun. Very impressive action, lame story and acting, exactly what you expect from a movie staring stuntmen.

As far as this movie went as a whole, I thought it was really amusing how modern and "today" the whole thing was. First you have a scene where he chases a master of parkour. Then the movie revolves around a game of Texas Holdem, which yes has been the main event of the WSOP for 40+ years but has only really been widely known for the last couple years. And the last thing which really amused me was in Bond's fight with the african warlord in the stairwell, he finished him with a classic rear naked choke even focusing briefly on how Bond was holding him with his legs. I was sitting there saying "well, somebody's been watching the UFC".

I have a feeling that in 10 years, you'll be able to look at this movie and say "this must've been made in the mid 00's.

Take the generally percieved 'best' Bond film, Goldfinger. A careful mix of realism, unrealism, humour, and the absurd. CR tried for realism, but broke it's own attempt at it with super-super-human feats of stamina and lack of broken bones. If Bond can't be hurt, why should I care if he's tortured?
