UPN has halted production on "jake 2.0"

A write-in campaign is being organised at j20fans:

If you've got 5 minutes and a stamp, you can help.

Some take the high road. Some take the low road.
And some just go screaming down the highway, dropping flaming bits of wreckage.

I've updated the campaign ( http://www.loony-archivist.com/j20/campaign.htm ) with a downloadable, printable postcard--and we're currently looking for submissions of others, for folks to use to mail UPN. So feel free to drop by!

I've updated the campaign site with two new printable postcards.

I know you guys probably think I'm tilting at windmills here, but I figure, if "Firefly" taught us anything, it's that quality TV shows can find a new lease on life if their fans actually care enough about them to speak up and be heard.

I loved "Jake 2.0" for a lot of the same reasons I adored "Firefly." The cast gelled from the beginning, I really enjoyed the characters, the writers had a direction and an arc and a plan which I am upset now that I will never see the resolution of, and the genre itself (spy-fi) is one that has been dear to my heart ever since I was a little kid, growing up watching "The Greatest American Hero," "The Bionic Woman" and "Scarecrow & Mrs King."

Sure, shows like "Jake 2.0" have a tough time. Look at "Now & Again" and "Invisible Man", which are its compatriots in the spy-fi genre who aired in the past few years, and were both dumped by their networks. At least N&A and I-Man were allowed to finish out their first seasons.

I guess I can't give up on "Jake" any more than I could have given up on the 'Fly. Not until I know for sure that I've done all I could.

I've updated the campaign page with new postcards, and a flyer for folks who are attending science fiction conventions in the near future to print out and leave on flyer tables, hand out at room parties, etc.
