Being bored one day I finally decided to purchase, and download every last season of StarGate SG1 and StarGate Atlantis. I have to say that the shows are really good and the characters are very easy to like. I just finished up with StarGate SG1, and now I'm in the middle of season 3 of StarGate Atlantis, and I REALLY like the characters.

My favorite characters of SG SG1 are Samantha Carter, and Tea'c. I find Danial kind of boring, and annoying. My favorite characters from Atlantis are Ronnin, Dr. Were, and that dark skinned woman who can fight like crazy, but I forgot her name.

You guys should really check out the Stargate series.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I have the complete series dvd set for SG1. Got the two direct to dvd movies too. Big fan of the series, though admittedly the last season or season & a half were wearing thin. Always like Jack, until RDA decided he was done. Mitchell, played by Ben Browder was good, but it's like they patterned his character directly off of Jack so I didn't like him much. Teal'c was cool. A bit dry and wooden at first, but he really came into his own as the series went on.

SG Atlantis was okay. Liked the new setting and the Wraith as the enemy. Ronin was cool, but they never did much with him. Tala is the name of the woman you're talking about. She was a good character too. Decent series, just not as good in my opinion as the original.

Looking forward to SG Universe.

SG Universe is a new show starting up in, what, fall....

River, make sure you've seen the two DVDmovies, too- "Continuum" and "Ark of Truth".

I'm a fan of Stargate also. Although I have to say, I enjoyed SG-1 (even in its low moments) to Atlantis. Still, it was a good franchise with a lot of thought and repercussions.

I'll differ slightly from you lot above in that I preffered SGA over SG1 as I thought the humour was a little better, at least to my tastes.
SG1 is still a great series in it's own right with some fantastic stories, but it did suffer towards the end. Then again so did the final season of SGA as well.

I often change my fave character in SGA between Rodney and Zalenka but either way they played off each other excellently especially when they were arguing.
In SG1 I don't really have a stand out favourite as they all worked well together, although I always liked it when Bra'tac (or however it's spelt) showed up.

Admit it, it was Joe Flannigan's "teh hair", wasn't it. Teh hair made that show.

Okay, okay, enough with the Spanish Inquistion and their fluffy cushions.
Yes it was "teh hair". I confess completely.
If only more shows had that going for them.
