Robinson Crusoe on Mars was a total hoot, but I think Total Recall gets the prize for me.
Although I have high hopes for the John Carter movie being completed just now...

Thoughts on the Red Planet stuff?

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Robinson Crusoe On Mars was the first thing I thought of when I saw the topic title. I liked Total Recall when I first saw it, but subsequent viewings have lowered my opinion of it.

I've never seen Aelita: Queen of Mars, so I have to withhold judgment on that one. Other than that, I can't think of any that I cared for, certainly not Mission to Mars or Ghosts of Mars.

Red Planet has always been a favourite of mine. Val Kilmer has been in some good flicks(he's made some bad ones too :) )

Yes! I loved Red Planet! Could barely even sit through Mission to Mars.
Phil Plait, the Bad Astronomer, feels the same way...

What you said Big 'C' - but because I'm a 50's sci-fi nut I also have to go with Conquest of Space directed by Byron Haskin.

Is this only flicks set on mars? Because otherwise I'd like to include:
Invaders from Mars.

Other thoughts on Mars?.... Strangely underused as a vehicle for narrative when you think about it. There should be more films set on Mars. It's an interesting planet....

Total Recall, absolutely. Philip K. Dick just rules that way.
