The Sci-Fi network has said that its not the choice at hand to cancelle the show ,but the NEILSON RATEINGS keep indecating that the show has no audience!!!!! (who knew)
They also admitte that thier network and air time is expensive and when you get a show that rates at 1% of the market thats bad,but admitte as well that the neilsons( Whats New) could be wrong about the viewer ship ,as to say that they have had a log jamm of E-mail scense they anounced the cancelletion of the show

Lets keep up the good work people and KEEP E-MAILING we can do it and the neilsons they have not been the best of fiends with people who love sci-fi anyway!!!!

And just for your information the Neilsons have only 3000 active partisapince in the rateings and only a third of them are considered AT ANY TIME (SO GUESS WHO GET SCREWED) SO IS THERE, OR IS THERE NOT NEED FOR A NEW SYSTEM OF RATEING IN THE TELEVISION MARKET, PLEASE COMMET!!!

Pretty bogus. About a year ago, they suddenly stopped showing "Earth: Final Conflict." Claimed it wasn't getting enough ratings. But they had to be better ratings than "Tales from the Crypt", which is what they replaced it with. The repeat level for that chestnut must be in 3 figures by now!

As I said before, I think they're just short on cash, and doing everything they can to cut expenses. I guess the idea is that they can get more capital if they convince Wall Street that they're cutting costs. More likely it means that SciFi's days are numbered.

That's kinda silly (not you, the 'wrong about the viewership'). Genre shows have a big internet presence, goes without saying. So because a mere thousands of people (less than 100K, probably) are protesting, SCIFI thinks there's a *massive* audience out there, bigger than the 1.5 million viewership that average ratings indicate? Makes no sense, but if it brings the show back, then stupid people rock!

Law of statistics, representative sampling ... The system has it's problems, but nevertheless, Nielson is very accurate. Rotating the 3000 sample makes it even more so, FYI.

Well to each his own but Well let's see if theres 40 million tv on at any givin time and only a thousand rateing site's from a samplying of three thousand,Gee I guess 1/100 of a % ,what was I thinking ?

Too be even close to a real number we would have to be a full 1% of a viewers market at any given time, the big three has pretty much told neilsons to get there rateing systems together or they intend to Dump the whole system (SAW THAT ON E.T.)by 2005 however not sure about how it would affect cable networks.

I hate the fact that to many good shows are cancelled because the neilsons say its got no viewers and the sampleing is done in mid-west or east coast, or west coast at one time zone at a time, and believe me thats all they take when it comes to cable networks!

We are getting robbed of a great show because the neilsons say "1%" and Sci- fi channel can't get sponcer's for there time slot and can't carry it for nothing,so it come to use the viewer to save one hell of a SCI-FI show, so come on people,we can do it and just to let you know a half million E- mail in the content of "sampleing" is worth over 4.7 % that they could go to there sponcers and say hey guess what neilsons are wrong and we can prove it !!!

P.S. A samplying if even three thousand house holds is really not accurate because a small sampleiing has nothing to do with both age groups and house hold viewing habits of and number of televions in house holds and can not be counted as such(thats something neilsons admits)so guess what its slanted, real slanted!!!
