Sounds like kind of an Angel rip off - plus, I've kinda had it with Keanu Reeves being 'the one', but the thought of him and Rachael Weisz together again (Chain Reaction - good flick) is interesting.
Anyone seen it, and can recommend it?

Seen it, twice.

The original Hellblazer comic predates Angel by many years, and there really is no correlation between the two.

Some like it, some don't. I thought it was very good.
