So it is nearly one year before its Birthday (1st Jan). This is a good thing because its birthday comes with a media update (a BIG update).

If none of you don't know, Black Mesa: Source is a remake of the 1998 hit PC game, Half-Life.

Valve Software, upon releasing Half-Life 2, released a ported version of Half-Life onto the Source Engine (The code that runs Half-Life2), aptly named Half-Life: Source. It was merely a port, nothing else. Half-Life: Source didn’t take advantage of many interesting graphical features, the model animations (which Half-Life 2 characters were known for) as well as the “Wow” factor that the original game was able to create.

At the beginning of this year, a group of people decided to take it into their own hands, to recreate Half-Life from the ground-up, changing their project name to Black Mesa: Source (due to copyright). This remake only requires you have a working copy of Half-Life 2 to play

You can register with the forums to fly around ideas and suggestions if you want. Yes we are still thinking of things to include in game. But before you enter, remember that that developers are purists to an extent, so the game will feature the same story, the same perspective as well as the same aliens and characters.

Hopefully you will also be included in the end credits when the final product is released for download
