G5 Video ipod Vs Creative Zen Vision :M Vs everything else

I have been giving some thought to buying a new digital media player I was (almost by default) considering buying myself a G5 video ipod. The thought that literally went true my head was “Well this thing is getting old better buy myself a new ipod” It really strikes me that at first I didn’t even consider buying another brand. Apple’s marketing seems to be doing its job well.

Now the thing is, buying one of these new breed of portable media players isn’t cheap so the question is, does Apple disserve my money? Does it deserve yours?

The Creative Zen Vision :M has a better screen, better battery life, supports more video and audio formats, and can be used on more than one machine. But the ipod is slimmer better looking and with the scroll wheel and itunes is much easier to use.

And thats just the two biggest names, what about the other products on the market?

So I ask the question, what are you carrying around in your pocket? Would you recommend it? What one would you like to own? Does the ipod deserve to be market leader?

why go with anything less than the best? there is a reason why they are so popular...and it is not just kick ass ads. They hold up like crazy and look sweet as hell.

I am going to be upgrading mine soon...but not until the next Apple anouncement. The rumor is a touch screen front...meaning the whole front will be a screen you can watch tv shows on...like firefly.

it is a tough decision...but just go with Apple...i am always happy with my products by them.

Those pictures look kinda photoshoped somewhat cleverly done though, but I think the products genuine.

I have been fairly disappointed with my iPod. Not it in and of itself though. The software’s okay, not great though, but the reliability of the iPod itself is ridiculous. It lasted about six months before mine just died and it hasn't really worked since, I’ve given up on it now and I'm trying to decide if I trust the iPod enough to buy another one, or try something different.

I can't decide what to think of the pictures. i thought they were fake too, but Apple is now trying to make it illegal for bloggers to report on unanounced projects they are working on. There are also reports that Apple just tried to patent the touch screen for the iPod.

What generation of iPod do you have citizen? The first cpl generations were horrible for battery life. Mine has been working like a dream for a cpl years now...hate to hear that you have bad feelings for it.

I think you hear more reports of iPods not holding up is due to the fact they are so popular. The more people that have them...the more chances of one screwing up.

I don't know...anything you buy will be outdated in 6 months anyways. Just buy what works for your lifestlye. I am a total mac fan. I have one at work and one at home...so iPods make total sense for me. I like all my stuff to match...lol

i use the 30 GB ipod photo and love it to death. i read this article recently that compared 5 or 6 different mp3 players and while each one had something that it was better than the ipod for (color varieties, use on other machines, battery life), ipod always ended up winning for ease of use and menu navigation.

I think the pictures are fake, they look photoshoped, but not necessarilly the story.

I had a 30gb iPod Photo. I guess I bought it about a year ago, seeing as I recieved a form asking if I wanted to extend the warranty, since my years warranty was almost up.

I think Apple were pushed by demand, which envitably pushes quality down. Having said that if there was only on dodgy one on sale in the entire world knowing me it would be the one I bought...

Well in the end I have ordered a Black G5 ipod from Apple with the engraving “Theres no place I can be since Ive found Serenity”.

Now I certainly hope I don’t regret it!
