This just in from Gateworld.net:

Adam Baldwin will be appearing in the late-season two-part episode of Stargate SG-1 entitled "Heros" as Colonel Dave Dixon, commander of SG-13.

Quote:

"Firefly's Adam Baldwin guested on the show, appearing in the late season two part 'Heroes.' Sitting in the room watching the dailies, we were blown away by his performance (while Adam was almost literally blown away by the plethora of explosives director Andy Mikita set up for one unbelievable sequence). Word from the set was that Adam loved doing the show. Without a doubt, we'd love to have him back." (Executive producer Joseph Mallozzi, in his GateWorld WebLog)

The full outline of the episode can be found here,

And a shot of Adam as the colonel (with a very Jayne-like smirk of determination) can be found here

Cool, my dad watches it, I'll have to tune in.

Isn't David Dixon the name of that actor from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy TV show? He plays Ford Prefect.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Baldwin is spoken for! Having him back is contingent on allowing him enough time to film Firefly: The Movie!

Check me out on WinMX, I have all Firefly episodes in SVCD format including the 3 episodes recently aired on SciFi UK.

So long as he's working and they keep putting "Firefly" in front of his name, it's all good. man's got a family, after all, mouths to feed - and not every network uses hiatus as a precursor to cancellation. some series actually get to come back after a long healthy break, or two since this is on Sci-fi.

Superb news!

Now that Firefly is gone, Stargate is the best show in production today.

Season 7 has been somewhat weaker than the first six years so far; however, the second half (which will include this ep) looks to be made of stronger material.

Besides, its only a guest role. He'll have plenty of time to do Firefly: The Movie even if he becomes a recurring guest.

Now, if they sign him for the upcoming Stargate: Atlantis spinoff, then you can worry about time constraints. But that's unlikely, seeing as his character is in command of SG-13, and Atlantis is supposed to be a more civillian show.

The break doesn't end until January 10, I believe. So this two-parter will likely be aired the first part of February.

I'll be updating this post as more information becomes available.

Incidentally, I believe that this is the same episode where Voyager's Robert Picardo will guest-star.....and I've heard that SG1 may be permanently changed in another way, as well.
